Re: Leap Frog: Lost & Found
Just so everyone knows, if you make it through the next move, white will get a Knight on b1 and black will get a bishop on g8. This of course is unless for points reasons I need to move them somewhere else. I haven't checked yet.

Re: Leap Frog: Lost & Found
this is ther "mystery" part of it to me, and maybe more than just me.

what happens if black would rather O-O then have the bishop at G8?

white has already O-O so white gets their piece at B1. big diff.

DID I actually say that ???? LOL!

Re: Leap Frog: Lost & Found
If g8 isn't available then the bishop will get placed on the next available white square, if black castles then that would be e8.

Same here , and let me assure everyone, that Pazuzu will not allow either team to be disadvantaged by these new rules. So, lets just go for it and enjoy the game. It's in good hands.

Re: Leap Frog: Lost & Found
Well, I thought this game out and it took me a week or so to work out some of the bigger kinks, but just because I know what is going on doesn't mean I expect everyone to catch on right away. If I see someone making a move that looks like a mistake made because of the new rules, or because if a misunderstanding of the new rules, then I'll try to explain to them what is going on and I'll give them a chance to correct their mistake. I think after a couple of found and/or lost pieces have taken place most of you should have a better understanding of how it all works.

If a player makes a normal blunder then they are just sh!t out of luck...

Re: Leap Frog: Lost & Found
Oh man, this was THE worst time for black to miss a move. This will most likely be the only time during the game that each team was in line to get something bigger than a pawn. Now black has lost a pawn and white will get a knight.

Ironically, had black played Nxc5 then black could have ended up a pawn ahead. Now they will be a pawn and a bishop down.

Re: Leap Frog: Lost & Found
Ahhhhh, so you DO have to know the rules in order to play the right move.

if black plays Nxc5, then white will NOT get a free knight back as planned but a pawn instead, because that is the smallest piece available in the "taken bin" of pieces...? is that right?

and since black moves LAST,, it seems to me that black realy has an advantage in this variant.

Ok, I think I can get the hang of this.

Re: Leap Frog: Lost & Found
Black only had an advantage because white didn't do anything to protect itself. Had white played 10.Na4 then it would have ended in an even position.

I fixed it, there's a lot more for me to try to remember to change now, but I'll get the hang of it.
