And the only one that has been played by ALL world chess champions. I will now try to contact all the players I know. So far ,we have Yaman,Wizardno1,LarryN and Gladiator. If any of us has a problem during this tourney, he should try to contact me and we can reschedule the games once the problem has been solved. My games with Procyk were very interesting and I felt it was sad to terminate them suddenly. I am planning to start the tourney next friday at 2400GMT. |

Reply | 23 Feb 2008, 12:04:57 In reply to LarryN Re: Corres tournament # 2 suggestions This is today the beginning of this MOT. Each player needs to play 2 games against each other in this tournament. I wish to state that the time limit will be a typical one for corres games, you don't have to change it.To challenge someone, go to "corr games", one of the tabs of the main screen. Select "challenges". Select "show advanced options". You can issue a challenge by typing the name of your opponent. The speed remains the same.Challenge your opponent twice, one with black, one with white. On the "comment" tab,you can state the opening . I remind you the opening we are going to play. Nimzo-Indian defence 1 d4 Nf6 2 c4 e6 3 Nc3 Bb4! This is the list of all the players involved in that event. Gladiator 2673 Wizardno1 2382 Yaman 2317 Bgh 2171 TorpedoRun 2063 Rpsjr 2056 Procyk 1752 LarryN 1766 TrencherKnight 1713 Grevillea 1730 I want to stress that if anyone has got a problem during his games he should contact me. I would allow anyone to take a vacation if necessary. Remember we have TEN days for ONE move. Also to remind you not to rush when you have a move to play this is not a live game. I will challenge all the players right away for my own games. Good luck in your games! When you finish one game could you please post the result on this board or email me or Wizardno1? Thank you very much. |

I thought he might be feeling sorry for me as he was crushing me once again. I know it's a draw on Caissa's system. But give Wiz a win for the tournament game. Give me the loss I deserve. Larry |

Reply | 13 Mar 2008, 21:05:12 In reply to Gladiator Re: Corres tournament # 2 suggestions Thanks Gladiator. I did not expect a win against a good player, so this game was a big thrill for me. [and I hope also for Trencher and Larry] .Some of the credit must go to Procyk, because I followed his advice to "do not be afraid to sacrifice". I think everyone should see Gladiator - grevillea where you sacrificed your rook for a pawn. That was a brilliant move. I could not resist taking the rook and paid the price. The Nimzo was a good choice...so many ways that the game can develop after the opening.

Just copy and paste the game score from the results or your scorebook into a bulletin board post. The system will automatically add a "View game" link. IT could be expanded to best mating sequence, etc. The prize need not be physical...it can be just the glory of it all. In which case, it would be nice if Admin Brian could provide a tournament winners' page to keep a permanent record of major MOT results.
