TrencherKnight v Blue.
White should have played on for a simple win.

Re: NOVA 2012 Progress
Did I miss the game being posted somewhere? There may have been mistakes in the game, but I'm pretty sure that was an inevitable draw at the end. Not that I haven't blown the end game before...

Re: NOVA 2012 Progress
Here, let me post it for you. :)

It was easy to find. It's a game that ended the other day, with you and TK, and it was a draw ...

Re: NOVA 2012 Progress
The final position in the TrencherKnight vs. Blue game is, indeed, a
simple win for White. However, it could have been worse. I have had
three instances in my live tournament career in which my opponents
resigned
won games!

Hm... I had been looking at this, which I think results in a draw, but I see now that other variants may be less kind to black.

Re: NOVA 2012 Progress
Yes, but 62. b4 isn't required play. Best play is 62. Ka6, paralleling the Black king and making room for the advancement of the A column pawn. If Black then wants to try for the B column pawn, he has to retreat to the D column, allowing White's K back into the B column, and forcing the same position where his A pawn can freely advance.
