I am ready to withdraw too, if you won´t get an even number of players in the end. Otherwise I´ll play of course. But then I would like to ask how we will manage to cope with the technical problems on the site. I´ve played quite a few on-line games recently, and I´m afraid every second game has "hung" or otherwise been affected by technical mishapps . . .

Haha, thank you bladerunner and doorman. I just saw my rating for this - 1350p - and had to interject. I've avoided slow play for years now (having not played since my last Nova appearance), so I have no idea how well or horribly I'll do.
 
Realistically, it would be a very unfair advantage to have me as 4th board. However, I'll leave it for the TD to decide what's best.

About the board....great!...I remember when in old Caissa you had the little clock if you wanted to and it allowed you to try a move and perhaps three or four mentally and when you were ready you clicked it.
 
The only disavantage is time consuming but you will have this week to practice your tempo as I am doing lately forgetting about blitz and trying to play lots of 30/15....

The only way you let anyone down is NOT showing to play your games...otherwise: YOU will be more than wellcome!!

My fellow players can give me some ideas for the team name. I am waiting for ideas from DOORMAN, Spud and DualSpace.

I respectfuly disagree on chessplayers rating, but for the sake of the tourney and the incredible amount of trouble Wizzard took i say what the hell...bring it on babay!...good luck to all.

Good attitude, Bladerunner. Not just because I am in the same team as Chessplayer! To make a balance, I am too highly rated. I was hoping to be on board 4 to do battle with Grim and Spud [ no offence meant], instead my first game is with Kastelka. Sleepless nights.

 
 
Three suggestions off the top of my head
 
(1) The Anglosphere(on the basis that we represent the 4 largest english speaking countries in the world)
(2) The GeeDees (a play on the initials of our handles)
(3) The Handicapped ( 'nuf said...look at my track record)

When you folks settle on a name, let me know and it will be thumbs down on Thumbs Up. I hit on Thumbs Up, because, isn't that what you want if you are a Gladiator (especially if are a losing one!)?

Kastelka is clearly the most underrated player in this competition.

 ...have you seen the draw?....we meet in the first round....should be a mighty clash...I predict that all other games in that round will be diminished in the light of such a meeting...watch in amazement as these two giants of the board go head- to-head in a titanic struggle...you have been warned....it may put you off the game forever as you realise that you will never play such a game as these two

where is the draw is going?? now I'm not that good in language hope someone can gudie me out here it was well væert best about blade runner had væert captain of my team which player I meet in the first round has væert busy with my work so I've had a bad time to investigate dette.menn I think this is a magnificent tournament

NOVA 2010 FULLSTENDIG OVERSIKT
PROSEDYRER

For hver runde og hver Sammenkobling, spilleren av White bør kontakte spilleren Black, via mesaage, og arrangere et spill tid. Når det spillet tiden kommer, bør White utfordring svart på det avtalte tidspunktet kontroll. Hvis en kamp for et gitt Round ikke har vært gjennomført innen standard spillet tid til det runde, må det spilles i standard spillet tid. Spill planlagt for enhver runde kan være planlagt og spilles til enhver tid. Det ville være mulig for en spiller å fullføre hele hans spiller tidsramme på én dag! Når et spill er planlagt, vennligst informer meg via melding. Jeg vil holde et innlegg på dette forumet oppføringen planlagte Nova spillet ganger, slik at de kan observeres ved Nova deltakere og andre interesserte. Betenkningstid

Taper

Hvis en kamp for et gitt Round ikke har vært gjennomført innen standard spillet tid til det runde, må det spilles i standard spillet tid. Spillere må rapportere til Nova 2010 / Chat Room slik at jeg kan være sikker på at begge spillerne i en sammenkobling er tilstede. Hvis en spiller i en sammenkobling ikke vises, vil denne spilleren være tapt. Hvis ingen av spillerne ser ut, en dobbel-inndratt vil bli administrert. Selvfølgelig hvis et spill har blitt spilt før standard tid til det runde, er det ikke behov for verken spilleren i at sammenkoblingen å rapportere på standard spillet tid. Men, vær så snill, la oss gjøre dette til en inndratt uten Event!
