MOT: French Winawer Poisoned Pawn
Greetings, Ladies and Gents (but let's be honest ... it's been years since I've competed - to my knowledge - against a Lady here) This tourney is like to be my last here at Caissa, as our MOTs tend to go long, and my membership expires in November. I've been with Caissa for ... well, since beta, really (back in 1995), and I'm sad to go, but I just can't justify sticking around anymore to pay $50 to be ignored.

Anyway ... enough of that.

This tourney is the French Winawer Poisoned Pawn, sticking to the traditional opening:
1. e4 e6
2. d4 d5
3. Nc3 Bb4
4. e5 c5
5. a3 Bxc3+
6. bxc3 Ne7
7. Qg4 Qc7

This MOT will follow standard MOT rules:
1. Each player will play 1 game as white and 1 game as black (2 games) against each player in the cross table. White player shall challenge black for all games (ie, every player is required to issue 1 challenge as white for each opponent).
2. Standard Correspondence settings apply (20 moves in 30 days), unless both players agree to different settings ahead of time.
3. If more than 7 players register, there will be two cross tables. If more than 13 players register (highly unlikely in this day and age) there will be three cross tables. etc.
4. Points will be based on wins / ties / losses (1 / .5 / 0 respectively)
5. Move errors prior to completing the above opening will result in the game being discounted from the tournament, and a new challenge should be issued.
6. As MOT organizer, I reserve the right to make up new rules, changes, or addendum whenever I see fit, prior to the beginning of the tourney.
7. New rule (more of a heads-up) that I just thought of: the cross tables (if more than one) will be assigned randomly, using an online random generator, so I cannot be accused of weighting a specific table, and hoping that players get a chance to play against a variety of skill sets.
7.a -- that being said, I can pretty much guarantee that every player who registers for this MOT has played every other player who registers for this MOT, so it's not like we're not all familiar with each other ...

Registration for the MOT will close on 17 July. I intend to have cross table(s) created on the 18th so that games may commence that weekend.

Please post here with a message stating your intention to play if you wish to register.
