Reply | 17 Sep 2011, 02:13:28   MOT - standard Corr. Vienna Gamme, Frankenstein Dracula Variation I'm proposing a correspondence tourny for Hallowe'en. Since Dr. Nunn is someone I look up to, I checked his wilkepedia info and lo and behold, a swashbuckler's opening. I think this is the perfect tourney for trick or treats. Frankenstein–Dracula Variation 1.e4 e5 2. Nc3 Nf6 3. Bc4 Nxe4 This is the move that defines the Frankenstein–Dracula Variation. White cannot of course win material immediately, since 4. Nxe4 brings 4...d5. Therefore, do not continue with 4. Nxe4... Anyone interested can post here or email me and I'll get it organized - for once. Edited on 24 Sep 2011 at 17:42:31 |

"Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein" Poor Dracula isn't on the marquee sign. And while chess may not be the monster's forte, That doesn't stop me from wanting to play. With All Hallow's Eve approaching so near, My message to all is "Have no fear!" Facing Grim OTB, you're certain to win. So follow up this post with, "Sign me in!" |

Don't drop that good brain jar again! And Drac wants to know, before an entry he makes: "Tell me please, what are the Stakes?" Edited on 21 Sep 2011 at 07:12:51 |

Reply | 21 Sep 2011, 12:01:31 In reply to WizardNo1 Re: MOT - standard Corr. Vienna Gamme, Frankenstein Dracula Variation Ha-ha! .. Good one, Wiz! -- Speaking, of a tourney idea, that does Not involve playing, fellow human 'Caissans'..{which we weren't}. Every entrant, would commit themselves to playing, 4 games {let's say}, at 'chess-960'.. against "AgentSmith" {eg- Of unofficial, "All-World," ability level.. at that variant!}; At a uniform time-control, of no faster than 'g/10'..{10 min. per game}; And in a pre-arranged, 4-game-tourney, {2 'white'; 2 'black' games}; Beginning & end, dates. Each player entered, would also be required to post, their 4 games, versus "AgentSmith" {at 'chess-960'}; On the "Analysis-chess" bulletin-board. Thereby, making their total 'W-L-D' score; Apparent.. for all to see. -- I believe, that, a 'chess-960' tourney, would be more interesting, for All, {even the 'pure' spectator}; Since, there's No denying, that it's impossible to prepare {in advance}; Of the 960, possible starting positions, that might be randomly assigned! Obviously, the first 2 steps, in organizing this; Is a volunteer/committed 'TD' {who may also play; Though, it Won't be I!}; Plus the obligatory 'sign-up' page; With the game & tourney, parameters, stipulated. Ps.- Expect, more than a few games, to be 'minitiatures'..{with the 'human' player, on the losing end}; And, any game that an entrant, fails to post {on the 'chess-analysis' bb}; Will be treated, as a 'forfeit.' Pps.- I would be remiss in saying, that this concept, is Not 'cheat-proof'; But Most of you, would know, in what way I mean. Further; I like to think, that All of us, are at least, That minimally honorable; Especially.. when No $$$, are 'on-the-line'! -- {comments?; Including, a volunteer {presumably competent}, 'TD,' for this '960' tourney concept?!}. --'Take-it-away,' from there; Or, Not! -- |
