I realized I had left you off earlier but did not get the chance to edit the crosstable until just now. I had made the crosstables for the first two classes with 5 players for each. I copied and pasted the same crosstable for the Novice class overlooking the fact we had 6 players registered for Novice not 5. Sorry. Edited on 21 Dec 2010 at 21:16:44 |

How can Grim make his matchups fall When he does not appear at all? There's surely here the implication That Grim's beneath consideration Calling him, "Novice" was bad enough And now you've made things doubly tough This awful error, this omission Could cause Players to petition For some TD reprimanding Or even the Event disbanding! Be quite careful with each Post Or you might get a Wizard roast! Mind your x's and your o's Or I might, here, more rhyme impose! Edited on 6 Jan 2011 at 16:56:35 |

Unfortunately he did not show. I tried twice more to reschedule. I never heard from him. I don't blame him. It is hard to schedule but if you want to play you need to try hard to make it.

Reply | 31 Jan 2011, 04:42:38 In reply to yaman Re: Live tournament 1-05-2011 Standings crosstable I'm sorry but I am giving people 2 weeks to schedule a game. I am well aware of time differences, life commitments and language barriers but I also have to try to keep this thing moving as well. Everyone forwards me their correspondence with their matched opponents and there must be some type of effort to make these games happen. I am not beyond extending the 14 day time period if the 2 parties are in contact but just having scheduling diffuculties but if a game is scheduled and then your opponent does not show on more than one occasion and does not provide an explanation in a timely manner or no correspondence at all for that matter for days I have no choice but to grant a forfeit win. This is a live tournament not a correspondence tournament. It seems to me that it is nearly impossible to make a live tournament happen here and I sure dont want any hard feelings for trying to move this thing along. I will finish adminstrating this live tournament but there will not be another. I was hoping to provide this site a live event again, perhaps provking some game discussion to more or less get members communicating in a fashion other than correspondence games and the once in awhile BB post. If this is only frustrating to the players it goes against what this tournament was created for and certainly a failure in that sense. updated 1-30 includes: Grim vs thornydevil 1-0 Longago vs power 1-0 (forfeit) Comrade-Lekarka 1-0 resigns Kingsfull-Spud 1-0 resigns Spud-ehoppy 0-1 resigns *Unfortunately power has resigned from the tournament. Everyone in Master Class will receive forfeit wins for his unplayed games, but to be clear power did not lose any played games they were all forfeit loses. Edited on 31 Jan 2011 at 05:06:58 |

No reason to stop running tourneys I was simply giving you a heads up that trying to schedule a game with Power is a waste of time.I certainly will never try again Best Yaman |

Its just the general feeling I'm getting that this is becoming more of a pain than anything. I just think when something that is supposed to be fun activity becomes frustrating or a burden then it defeats the purpose in which it was created. I just certainly don't want any hard feelings from anyone because of this tournament for any reason. Also, I did not have time to do week 3 pairings tonight I apologize. Please look for the new pairings tomorrow.

Brandon, as my own limited experience as TD for a corr tourney will attest, being the TD is a thankless job. The only real satisfaction you'll get for it is the feeling that you've contributed to the site in a positive, and meaningful manner (to yourself). But here goes anyway: thanks for getting this LIVE tourney going. I'm enjoying it, and I think most of the players involved are enjoying it as well. I'm also certain that any frustration the players are feeling is not based on your role as TD. Best, -J |
