Perhaps you could split it into two sections with the top 8 rated players seeded. 1-8 and 4-5 in group A and 2-3 and 3-6 in group B with the rest distributed randomly. This would give good fair balance while not requiring players to play 22 games (12 players) or 26 games (14 players)or more. With that many games in a MOT you can not really play any other corr. More than 20 games is a lot of corr. to keep track of. The top two finishers in each section could meet a mini-MOT of 4 playing six games each for Grand Champ.

If you want, you can do it with this opening. I will do the next MOT in april because I have many games to play with my mates BrandonE, Yaman and Jaume1959.
