Three groups have been established by way of an algorithm which I cannot reveal lest that Russian bastard who cheated me this year for the Fields Medal does the same thing in 2014. I’ve set up three cross table threads and in response to Pennine’s mangling of Monkeys Bum to “bonk my emus”, have given each group a name /theme based on the first two letters from each of the handles
 
Usual Correspondence rules apply. Challenge everyone in your Group twice, once as black and once as white with the standard Challenge format.
 
The Opening runs 1.e4 g6 2.d4 Bg7 3.Nc3 c6 4.Bc4 d6 5.Qf3

I know nothing about this opening but 5 ...nf6 seems like the sharpest defense to the monkey

Good lord, I've just checked the cross tables.
 
I'd like to thank spud, who is clearly upset at me for kicking his backside for the past five tourneys, for assigning me into a group that will likely require all of 11 moves to mate me each game.
 
Obviously, this is a revenge ploy. But I'll take it like a man, because I have beaten Power once ... just once ...

Why not have the winners of the three sections, say they are Spud, Botvinnik, and Vertator, meet in a double round-robin when this event is concluded, for the title of "Super Simian" or something like that?

If me, Botvinnik and Vertator win our groups, everybody will be too busy dodging the crap falling from the flying pigs while trying to not slip over on the frozen wastes of Hell to worry about playing finals...seriously though, it's a good idea....I'll give it some thought and come back with some guidelines......

Maybe we should do the same for those of us that finish DFL

I suggested this earlier to get over the hurt feelings of being grouped. Perhaps the three winners and the best second place finisher could meet in a round robin
