In what may be one of my only wins this tournament, TrencherKnight (0) - Grim (1) ... but it's one of those unofficial challenges. :)

Hi Bartvinnik!

It was really a good game. In fact I considered that 6.h4 looks like interesting… Especially because I feel very important the opening of d column (after 7.Bf4 and 8.0-0-0). I choice finally 11.Bxb5 in an intuitive way. After a long analysis I considered my better development, your king in a little weak position and two pawns enough compensation for my piece .I prefer play this that to play the position after 11.Bb3. You play very well, but I thing that you have a better move with 15… f6. I was analyzing this move and I thought 16.Qb3 Bc8 (it is worst 16… Qb6 17.Qa3 Kg7 - Ne7 is worse after 18.Rb6 - 18.Rb6 and the position is very good for white) 17.Nf3 (also Ne2) Nf7 18.Nxc8 Rxf8 19.Nd4 Nd8 20.Nxe6+ Nxe6 21.Qxe6 Re8 22.Dd6+ ± but black could offer defense. There are more variants, but these are the principal possibilities.

But my most difficult decision was to choice between 18.Qa3! and 18.Rxf6+. To change queens in this kind of positions doesn’t seem the best… But I thought it was the best! The alternative was 18.Rxf6+ Nxf6 19.Qh6+ Kg8 20.exf6 Rd7 21.f7+ Rxf7 22.Nxf7 Rxf7 23.Qf4+ Qf5 24.Rd7+ Kf6 25.Qh6 Ne7 26.Nf3 Rc8 27.Qxg5 Qxg5 28.hxg5+ Kf7 29.Rxa7± but I preferred the collapse of the king flank after 18.Qa3!

Anyway congratulations! You played very well and you were a very fighting competitor.

Thanks
Jaume

Re: Monkeys Bum: The Dealers
I lost both games to Jaume1959, but gave it my best shot in each. I have good positions in my remaining games, so still have a chance at a plus score. Congratulations to James1959 for superb play. He will be tough to beat in the Playoff, if there is a Playoff. It looks like it would be James1959, yaman, and WizardNo1 in a Playoff I wish there were a way to have these games posted here publicly, move by move.

Re: Monkeys Bum: The Dealers
I think that there is a way to post the games.Verator posted my games with him that were live and it updated after each move.If there is a playoff, I'll try and post my games on here.(Of course with my record against Jaume and Wiz ,I'll probably be posting 4 losses)

You need the Game ID# located in the game info box under your name in a correspondence game to post a match. It's 3 letters followed by 20 numbers. You copy that Game ID and then click on the Import game tab when posting a message, then click monitor game, that paste the game ID into the box and click find.

You can post completed or ongoing games that way.
