With 20 players now, I am going to close Registration a bit early, re-calculate the ratings, and proceed with the formulation of the Teams and the Pairings.This is the way the Teams will be formed:
 
1. Latest rating updates ehecked and ratings revised
2. Top five players named Captains of the five Teams
3. For Board Two, Player 6 goes to Team 5, Player 7 goes to Team 4, Player 8 goes to Team 3, Player 9 goes to Team 2, and Player 10 goes to Team 1.
4. For Board Three, Player 11 goes to Team 1, Player 12 goes to Team 2, Player 13 goes to Team 3, Player 14 goes to Team 4, and Player 15 goes to Team 5.
5. For Board Four, Player 16 goes to Team 5, Player 17 goes to Team 4, Player 18 goes to Team 3, Player 19 goes to Team 4, and Player 20 goes to Team 1.
 
This is being posted at 10 AM U.S. Central Time on February 3. My next post will be entered within the next few hours and will contain the Teams,the pairings, and other pertinent information about the Event.
 
These are the lastest ratings and the onew which will be used to set up the Teams.

Good thanks to my message Grim and Soto2 have registered and we can now play it.

I'm beating the bushes.....wow, Am I old enough to know that expression.....

If we end up with a non-divisible-by-4 total may I suggest we have some players play as alternates? I know we would truly like as few forfeits as possible.

I hope we can manage a number divisible by four, but it looks unlikely. And since all the pairings will be posted at the same time, and since, although this is a one-round-per-week event, any or all the games may be played early, it will be all but impossible to use Alternates. If a player drops out (Heaven forbid) the Alternate would have to fit into the Team in the drop-outs proper board slot or it would be unfair to the other teams. As to what to do with extra players if the final number of entrants is not divisible by four, I wioll tackle that problem when it becomes a reality. (How's that for procrastinating.) LOL

Gentlemen,
If the divisibility by 4 problem persists then I volunteer for being kicked out of the Nova Tourney.

I think my good friend Chessplayer will not be offended if we consider his rating a BIT higher.....since he is a 2000+ blitz magician I would say he can be minimum 1950 slower game player....don't you think???
