I think that advice is exactly what I need. For the last three nights I am actually playing chess in my sleep. Dream land offers some really strange moves.

I got that book yesterday and have been working with it all the time. This has and is the strangest experience I have ever had.

Time to rest a little.

Kingsfull,,, your P-e5 is good.

I looked over the boards and said,, "Say, I think KF can play e5 here"

that seems to be a very good, freeing move.

It's a long way from home, my man.

We have a player in this tour that is not only very good, but he plays corr the way you are _supposed_ to play corr

He'll be along,, all in due time.

EDIT: I TOLD ya... here he comes

watch out for the man,.... the slow, true first gear that almost cannot be stopped.

fun chit man,,, fun.

Re: Official Poisoned Pawn variation, SD, MOT Kabitzing Thread

To my friends that play very fast because the light "turns red"... (wanna, RAP, and others, me too)

Do you feel like every time you see the CORR light go red, you just HAVE to respond NOW... lest you be thought of as a chess-leaper...?

I have found a solution for you !!!

make your moves,,,, then, WAIT. BLEEP 'EM! don't touch a damm thing. NU-thing... until every single player responds! NU-thing. - touch NU-thing!

corr is set up to give you plenty of time for you to look at your moves. there is no REAL need for you to rush ANYTHING.

and,,,, you'll feel better about yourself in the morning!

Re: Official Poisoned Pawn variation, SD, MOT Kabitzing Thread
About the speed of Corr:

Snoop: I have never played corr games...almost exclusively G2´s and G1´s...and from there to Corr maybe the step* was to high!..LOL....but I learned the lesson and lost 4 Q´s and some other important pieces in the process and I am near losing other 3 games because rushing the moves...you are right and from now on I will pace down and analyze better...who knowas..maybe it will make me a better player.....(or NOT).

Cheeers everyone.

Re: Official Poisoned Pawn variation, SD, MOT Kabitzing Thread
NathanB Has been removed from tournament play.

You may delete all challenges to NathanB and if you receive a challenge from NathanB at this point, you may delelte it or, should you choose to play NathanB, any result will NOT be countable in this tournament.

Re: Official SPANISH variation, MOT Kabitzing Thread
Just something to think about here for the next MOT theme, and Gladiator, please add your input here:

I find it confusing and troublesome to be right up on the updates of the crosstable. It may be best - in the future, to send in results only when both games with that specific opponent are complete. It really would cut the workload in half.

part of the problem with continual updates is, working with the text editor in here. if word wrap could be suspended when EDITING, it would be a huge help, so Pazuzu if you know of such a metacommand (like FIXED) that woud do that when editing, it would be a big help.

In the meantime, the tournament is going very smoothly, and the updates are timely. PLEASE go over your own personal results in the crosstable - "just in case". I have been caught having made one mistake already.

thanks

Re: Official Poisoned Pawn variation, SD, MOT Kabitzing Thread

Oh, and as I mentioned earlier,,, to post all games in the thread that also holds the crosstable would be unweidly to say the least. there are going to be some 200+ games (225, I think) and copying that post whenever there is an update to so would be very tedious, indeed.

I think that next time, it may be advisable to have a separte thread just for games. we'll see.

but for now,,, what I will do is take games out that have been there for a while and replace them with NEW ones - and that is where YOU come in.

if you are particularly proud of your game, send it along! and if you get REALLY daring, use the "comment' function in the corr game to tell us what is going on at a given juncture in the game.

we're learning a lot, eh?

In fact, I will try that now with the game I have out there, and tell you about it.

Re: Official Poisoned Pawn variation, SD, MOT Kabitzing Thread

BTW, this type of CORR tournament is somewhat of a learning experience for some, as I am realizing.

I was surprised to see a few in here mention to me that they wer glad they found the "Analyze" button, which of course, allows you to freely move the pieces around and try to figure out your best move. I would wonder to myself, then,, "Well, what were you using BEFORE that?"

Across the top of the your display chessboard you will see:

[Make Move]........[Analyze].........[Annotate]

the default is MAKE MOVE.

Obviously on ANY move, you want to try different things and go deeper into lines than your one ply. So if you have not tried this feature,, DO IT! when you are done moving everything around, just click the [Make Move] button and make your move, as ususal.

the Annotate button I am learning myself and I have used it but not finished the game yet to review my efforts.

I'd love to see a game put up in the MOT thread with annotations in it.
you can add/edit them as you go in your game, and go back in moves to do it (analyze mode) but I do not believe you can add them AFTER the game, unless you are pazuzu, who is good friends with Fen, the computer chess magician

I am one of those "few"...LOL...and I was using my imagination!...

...and I was wondering how could I lose 4 Q´s like xmas presents.....but blame it on too many G2´s and G1´s!

...but lately I am using another very important tool: patience...cheeers and keep winning mate!

hi wanna, glad to see you like this alternate way to play. and you really do learn more, IMO.

to quote:
just "reply" to a post (don't just cut-and-paste) and then go BELOW your text box and you can see the text you are replying to. it will say something like this:

Replying to this post by wanna2008:
To quote some of wanna2008's comments in your reply, first select (highlight) the text you want to quote from below and then click the QUOTE icon to the right.

highlight what you want, and hit the big [QUOTE] icon, and presto!
the text you highlighted is up in your textbox wrapped in they soon-to-be gray box.
