We do plan to add a BB filter, but we do not have an ETA at this time.

Hello Admin Brian, This is a disappointing outcome. It looks like the member with three handles and an IQ to match,will be able to continue with his own personal fantasy. The result of his actions is to reduce BB activity. Fewer debates, jokes, witty comments, less cut and thrust between friends, and rendering the BB to a pale lifeless existence. A mere shadow of what it could be, and indeed once was. This lack of response flies in the face of the great improvements you have made. This is not an issue over the quality or content of missing mass/zenknight/rosetta stone's posts;it is an issue about the sheer number of posts. These posts come with hardly any comment from him, and often come with no comment from him at all.The caissa membership are not happy with this situation. You do have the power to withdraw posting rights, and I ask you to reconsider your response, along those lines,ie , demanding that the poster in question, posts less often, and includes a personal comment which will add some interest to the post, or will stimulate a debate. WE ARE ALL SICK OF CUT AND PASTE NEWSPAPER ARTICLES AND YOUTUBE VIDEOS. That is not what the BB is for. yours sincerely, grevillea.

With all the respect your well presented opinion deserves Grev, my friend ( I dare to call you that because I feel you are) I do think that the BB should allow anything that is throw to it like the so called "trinity" material or even worse since is an open space...personally I am not sick or anything about those articles you mentioned- I just rarely open them ( I confess when I see more than one entrie I say to myself : "maybe this one is good!"..) but sometimes I enjoy picks from YouTube like that lady singer just recently that brought me strong feelings and made me think a bit.
 
There will ALWAYS be people you like and dislike in a place like this or opinions you care or not, as I remember Psycho or Zugzswang in the early days!...but asking to eliminate, filter or forbid thoughts , articles or videos based on opinions will drive us onto "relative" matters.
 
Let them post whatever they feel or think, let me say whatever I want...the better test will be the comments or silence of the crowd that perhaps sometimes could be worse and more powerful watch a bunch of solitaire "1" or 1's than to constantly complaint...

A commitment to free expression means that respect for others is inherent in that. Leaving aside the content, which is fundo drivel mixed with trivia to make it seem he is not on a crusade, the sheer scale of posting, in the context of the way the BB lists are presented, stifles debate.
 
This is the crux of the matter.
 
I have suggested that AdminBrian create a new BB for posting cut and paste or imbedded posts, and leave the Misc BB for actual posts with content, that may stimulate discussion.
 
Your admirably common sense and accepting attitude only works if you are dealing with rational people. If you are on a mission from god (I hate both the Illinois Nazis AND people who are on a mission from god btw)and see yourself as a moral giant amongst moral pygmies, then consideration for them goes out the window. Thus we see the BB so cluttered a topic is swamped by largely idiotic trivia, selected by a semi-educated cretin who thinks that mixing offensive religious crap with supposedly interesting titbits chosen for our amusement is communication.
 
So - give an outlet for that kind of post, and let real discussions be evident on a BB that is reserved for that only. If members then refrain from breaking in to any discussion with off topic ravings...well, what can you do...but at least there will be some clarity to where discussion happens, and where cut and paste stuff goes.

With your answer I imagined those nazi's you mentioned posting things here will not be the idea of anything goes either! There sure has to be limits.
 
Then I tought about all of your appreciations had to use adjetives like ""interesting", "offensive" that depends in someones opinion. That makes it relative: I probably enjoyed Greenjeans beach lady pics the other day and MM could think it was offensive, I could enjoyed Snoops cut and paste article of aliens and Raptor could thinks it was crap...it will all depends on who's opinion??
 
In the end I think is not about cut&paste or non interesting articles, I really think maybe is because we do not like the posters or their intention to amuse or to convince us about God and if I am right we could have all the filters or places to put videos and still will be complainting about them.
 
About the amusement I think I will not be since I do not like their choices and about convince me about God...sometimes I take nice ideas or paragraphs that contribute to my interior spiritual fight and finally about their answers I am still figuring out those symbols (keys) they/he/she uses all the time that makes it very hard for me to follow.
 

 
 
The filter we had on the old site was perfect. No one could complain . It was every members choice to see or not see another members posts.

I think a filter should be installed and available imediatly So i can filter chessplayers rude and obnoxuis postings on all bb boards in favor of a filter.
