He was a great entertainer, helped define a generation, bridged racial divides and brought us "We are the World". --SoCo |

Reply | 26 Jun 2009, 16:28:13   Re: Farewell, King of Pop I have always found it amazing that charges, any charges, against entertainers seem to go without notice or are completely accepted by the public. With very few exceptions the general public will even go to the extreme to explain and “understand” the “problem”. Should the same thing happen to an ordinary person he or she would probably have their house burned to the ground or in the best case scenario just harassed 24 hours a day by “good” and “righteous” and “honorable” people carrying pickets telling the world how dangerous they are. This would happen prior to any trial or even if the person was totally innocent. Punishment, not discipline, seems to be in direct proportion to how much money they have. If the common person can't come up with $20 million, to settle out of court, then that poor person will just have to try to stay alive in jail. Double standard? Nawwwwwwwwwwwwwwww !!! |

Actually , there is a double standard in that mothers in law ,aunts, grandmothers and mothers in general can smother themselves all over their own children or anybodies children..kiss them hug them etc and get away with it. Try doing that if you're a man. I believe that Jackson was fond of children in a non sexual way..just like a granny would be. For this , he was condemned as a pedophile.

As an aside, Ive seen nothing on Farrah...why is that....was the whole anal cancer thing just tooooooooo gross to contemplate ? |

Reply | 27 Jun 2009, 01:03:41 In reply to Spud Re: Farewell, King of Pop Agree. CNN has devoted OVER 24 hours of nearly NON STOP jackson stuff. Farah is only an occasional moving footnote at the bottom of the screen. Grev. what I was trying to say is that innocent or guilty a non entertainer will suffer far more public by the lovable public as opposed to someone that is "respected" by millions of adoring fans. As for the trial? wasn't the 20 million paid to keep it out of court? I do remember him going to court and then nothing happened. I don't remember any jury being seated or a verdict mentioned. His music is not my style, I honestly can't think of a single title that was his and wouldn't know one when it was played, but, I must admit it did make great strides and influenced many people.
