You didn't even know this site existed in it's prime, unless of course you had a different handle which I don't believe to be the case. So how can you compare the past with the present? As for me, I don't give the chess interface the time of day anymore so it really doesn't matter if it is better or worse. My experience with it was that it was certainly worse, though it sounds like some improvements may have been made along the way.
I'm betting that had those improvements been done in another way they wouldn't have lost such a large share of their audience.

The Member agrees to respect the use of the Bulletin Board as a public forum open to all members and agrees not to interfere in any way with the normal usage of the Bulletin Board by other members, including excessive postings, multiple postings of identical content, and inordinate reposting of previous content.
The administrators shall have the right to edit, refuse to post, or remove any content posted on the Bulletin Boards that is in their sole discretion in violation of the provisions hereof or otherwise objectionable. Multiple violations of these provisions will result in termination of the Member's account or revocation of the Member's posting privileges, without notification or further recourse.
