Economic growth can not continue forever. Growth is fuelled by debt.Debt destroyed socialism, and debt will destroy capitalism. Obama has been forced to realise this. But American voters are not yet ready to give up the gravy train of living the high life on the rest of the world's money. One day it will have to. |

Every consumation requires an effort one way or another of a producent. Either you have to put in the effort yourself directly to get what you want (i.e. you go out in the forrest to pick the berries you want to eat) or otherwise you do an effort to get a product to sell for money and then buy the stuff you want from someone else (i.e. you go out in the forrest to pick berries, sell them on the market for money, and then use the money to buy a sandwitch). And this applies regardless of the economic system (socialism, capitalism or whatever). The same thing can ofcourse be expressed in the more cathy way: There is no such thing as a free lunch. Lending money to consume is not a good idea, it never has been and never will be.... Ask the Greeks! Edited on 10 Aug 2012 at 13:52:47 |
