help from administration
why is it that after fifteen years with Caissa's web I cant get a response from the administration over a technical problem with the caissa computer. I moved a rook from a1 to d1 and the rook disappeared off the board. I think that the rook was placed just below d1 and was recorded as a1d (my fault). However I think I deserve some response from the administration over a move that is obviously illegal. I am thinking of dropping caissa membership if this cant be resolved. What the heck is the administration for?

Re: help from administration
I wrote after a couple of times when the game stopped because each side thought it was the other's turn to move, and neither could move. No reply. I don't even know if payment is automatically renewed next year, so I have to cancel if I want to stop membership. I asked about this but no answer either.

Re: help from administration
for those of us who remember "classic caissa"....we may remember a feature which was called " the sound of check, and checkmate." A simple courtesy sound to alert the player when the situation arises. (Very useful) in speed games and a nice "human" touch in normal games. Alas, more serious problems are not being addressed. Come on Administration, work one week out of your apparent 52 week vacation. signed: founding member jackflanders

Re: help from administration
I'd second this....just give us a sign (beyond cashing our cheques) that you are still there and you actually care about this site and its members

Thanks to administrator Brian for fixing the problem. It took about 3 weeks but the fix is now done.

Re: help from administration
I am a Founding Member too, and have been on Caissa for about fifteen years also. The only thing I can figure about this Site, and the Administration, is this:

Caissa's Web is a kind of experiment, to see if a completely unattended Site can function, and, if so, for how long? It is rather like the planet in the movie, "Forbidden Planet", where everything was still functioning long after all the forms of life which created the technology had disappeared. If anyone has a better explanation of the reason that the Administration is never heard from, I'd like to hear it!

Re: help from administration
An interesting 'pov' Wiz; But, if this site were 'completely' entropic, {as in 'entrophy'}; Then 'LostKnight's, technical glitch .. would've gone unattended to, 'til all the cows came home'; Of their own volition. {hah!}
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Speaking of 'cows'; I can't think of a more wasteful way, of feeding our earth's population, than catering to all the meat-eaters, among us; Unless of course, the other extreme is observed; Where cows are treated as 'Holy' in some 'backwater' areas; And allowed to roam 'free.'

One day, {I believe}, there will be a True 'benevolent {near-virtual} dictator; But Not before the world experiences its own 'hell' {on earth}; By the old 'Wolf-in-sheeps-clothing,' rulership scenario; Several forerunners, of which we see {and even are governed by}, now!

Ergo; Either way.. 'human-free-will' in All of its unbridled forms; Will, at some point {in the future}, be constrained; And though this might strike some, as more of the 'stuff of a fictional novel'; We are the 'actors'.. and have almost 'No say' {including now}, in the {Biblical-like} 'script'! ..{no regrets, from This messenger!}.
