There is a team-based tournament being hosted this year, for anyone interested. We're having a hard time getting 16 players together to make four teams of four, but I can't believe there are so few Caissans left that we can't make that number!
 
If you get a chance, check out the Member Hosted Tournaments area, and look for NOVA 2012 (should be near the top). We could use more entrants, it's totally free (with your membership to Caissa, of course :) and open to everyone of every level.

Being 'active' is one thing; But, committing oneself to a series of games, {as in corr. chess}; Of which a win, loss or 'draw' is Not known, in the span of 30 minutes, at most; Is Not the sort, of gratification, that I sense, most 'active' members here, are looking for!
 
In a nutshell; The temperament difference, required, between 'live-chess' and correspondence tourneys; Might as well, be-as-wide-as, the 'Grand Canyon.' ..D-u-h?!

Hard to make the times for live games given my work and family situation (3 children under 3...). Potential is there for evening games Thursday-Friday 9-11 EST. If that can be accommodated I can play Nova.

is a far cry from the 96 entrants we had a few years ago! If you read
this, enter today! This is a Team Correspondence Tournament with but
one game played on each Board, so you will only be signing up for a
measly three games total, and you will be paired with players of
approximately your own rating.

Well, I was u nnder the impression I would have over 20 games active. That I could never do. If the TOTAL games I would be involved with is only three I would be interested.

No, RAPTOR, civilis got the 16th spot, but we now have Zilon as number
17, and, with you we would need just two more for a full five teams, so
go ahead and sign up, by all means.
