Reply | 26 Jan 2012, 11:53:40   Marrying The Girl Of My Dreams. Some of you who play me regularly have already been bored by my continuous text during games regarding this. Story goes; We were together from 17-22 and i asked Catherine to marry me when we were 18. Wisely she said no as we were too young. Unfortunately, we split up and both married other people. We got back together 3 and a half years ago and have lived together since. Im finally getting to marry her on 8th February, 26 years after i first asked her and i am the happiest man on the planet!! Apologies for my drivel but i wanted to share it with as many people as i know (even if i dont know you all). Al Bell Edited on 26 Jan 2012 at 14:31:05 |

All I seem to remember is that you are a Gillingham town FC supporter. You drew the short straw there, but at least you got a result in your personal life. Great story and all the best to you.

I did something similar. in 1995 I called the girl that I had dated in 1965 and asked her to marry me and send me a picture as I hadn't seen her for 30 years. Like so many other people who have done the same crazy type of thing, I am extremely happy and deeply in love. The reason people get back together after all those years is there was something special between them that brought them back together. There is some sort of chemistry that wouldn't let them forget this person they loved so much.

Reply | 30 Jan 2012, 16:48:51 In reply to corbata Re: Marrying The Girl Of My Dreams. i know its an old cliche' but when i first set eyes on her all those years ago when we were 17, it was love at first sight. never ever got her out of my mind and spent so many years married to the "wrong" woman. not that there was anything wrong with my ex wife but she just wasnt THE one. not her fault but mine. my heart ruled my head. definitely a chemistry and i couldnt stop thinking about her. it is a crazy selfish thing to do but my heart ruled my head and i have no regrets. love is a beautiful thing and when youre lucky enought to feel and live the real thing, its amazing. hats off to you mr corbata for following your heart and living your dream.

Reply | 8 Feb 2012, 02:52:34   Re: Marrying The Girl Of My Dreams. 0My wife is from Colombia SA and when she agreed to marry someone she hadn't seen for 30 years, all her friends called her crazy. She had a good life and would have to sell her apartment and basically come here and start over. A gay friend of hers returned from a trip and she told him she needed to talk to him. She started to explain the problem and he interrupted and said, "Pack up and go" "What? Why,I haven't told you everything yet" I don't care. I have never seen you like this and if you don't go, you will always regret it. She packed up and came and we love each other

It was 30 years and she was and is still beautiful and I am so silly I still get tears in my eyes when I talk about her. People never ask if I love her. It shows in my face and emotions.
