Thanks for the post - his first words "you have to stretch to grow"... "best lessons came from my losses". Interesting. I read Waitzkin's book 'the art of learning' a few years ago. His take on chess rules was interesting. The better you get, the more you need to know when one rule supecedes another rule or many rules in any given position. A master knows the ranking and priority in any given situation. He became a champion in a very specialized martial arts and wrote a lot about training, preparation, and recovery n his book, and techniques for these. He's bulked up because I think he was preparing for heavy-weight brazilian ju-jitsu - he mentioned this. |
