i need the best football minds on caissa
i know this is gonna sound strange (raptor forgive me), but I have a honest to goodness question about football that has bothered me for a good long time, and never bothered to ask anyone till now. First, i want to say about chess play, books and everybody say "control the center", I will never understand this, I still dont. It just makes no sence to me. I like to put nights on f7, e7 with pawns on f6, and e6. Anyway in the same way that i like this off the wall hypermodern style with opening deployment, i look at the way football is played and I think, what are vthose guys thinking of!!!! The other team cant play as well if they dont know where the football is so why dont they LATERAL, then LATERAL again, then LATERAL and keep on LATERALING until the opportunity presents its self to pass the ball at a timely moment. Its sort of like the french defence in chess, white has to wait a long time, if black so chooses, to find out where the black king is gonna be, king side or queen side. Also I would like to know if this constant lateral idea, has ever been done or thought of in the past. And if not what is the record for lateral maneuvers during one play, during a football game. Or the record for laterals during an entire game. I may be a novice, but these are the things i think of. And to relate it to chess, some of the most original ideas i have ever seen have come from players 1400- and below. Well anyway Im glad i got this off my chest, it feels like a weight has been lifted from me.

NCAA Record 15 'Lateral Passes.' {the only problem with this, is that if a team does this too often; Their opponents start anticipating {and practicing against}, their 'tendencies'; Which tends to even things out. --
