Reply | 8 Mar 2010, 14:36:16   Drinks by the computer Yaman gave me an idea for a question. Who out there is a coffee, tea, fruit juice, etc type player and do you think it helps your game any. Also, who are the beer, wine, whiskey etc players and do you feel it helps your game any. A player who i dont see anymore, Alarmimherz, lamented to me many times that he was drunk. But it was not (it seemed ) the celebratory kind of refreshment.

I don't know if it helps my game (likely it makes little difference), but I do have a tendency to be more experimental with openings. When I'm on coffee (usually strong), I tend to play very fast and sharp - as would be expected. |

With a drink or many, as can be the case on the weekends if I play late into the night - I play well early on because there's less fear, but if you graph my performance it's pretty clear it will peak at some point and then take a nose-dive.

Although, on balance, I prefer beer [Coopers is our local brew], living where I do, you can't escape the grape!! Edited on 11 Mar 2010 at 00:25:28 |
