Reply | 6 Feb 2010, 08:16:46   Re: Super Bowl Predictions chicagotribune.com Super Bowl nun makes her pick In Colts vs. Saints showdown, which horse will Chicago nun ride? By Kevin Pang, Tribune reporter February 2, 2010 Around this time every year, we get a very nice e-mail from a very nice nun, who politely reminds us that among those in her convent, she is the reigning Super Bowl prognosticator. This sister is not to be messed with. With an 18-6 record in picking football's biggest game (she only predicts winners and scores, not the spread; gambling is the eighth deadly sin), Sister Jean Kenny of St. Francis Borgia Parish has fashioned herself into quite the media darling. When we made our annual check-in with Kenny and her dear cat Woodsie, she was in the midst of a host of media appearances: local morning shows, CNN, newspaper interviews. A few years back, she was hamming it up on TV with Conan O'Brien and Jay Leno. Kenny, was an arts and gym teacher at the now-closed St. Priscilla Elementary School on the Northwest Side, has been dubbed the "Psychic Nun" in some media outlets, but she admits having no extrasensory abilities. Rather, she relies on her subscription to Pro Football Weekly ("the gospel of the NFL," she says) and her statistical analytic acumen. Then, as she does every year, she composes her prediction in rhyme and verse, which we present to you here. "Manning's Miami Masterpiece" Welcome back fans to the Sunshine State See the galloping Colts sprint out of the gate Sean Payton's "Who Dat" team is dealt their bridesmaid fate While the BLUE Dat winners go on to celebrate The penalty-prone Saints are confused and slow Drew Brees experiences a knockout blow Gentleman Jim Irsay's team is focused and ready to go Coach Caldwell's game plan unfolds well at the NFL's biggest show Freeney shows "Hoosier Hospitality" as he inflicts some pain The saddened Saints fall from grace and are sore and lame They played hard, but could not live up to their name The Colts stampede in Miami again and win the big game! Sister Jean Kenny's prediction: Colts win 31-22. |

Reply | 6 Feb 2010, 14:53:02   Re: Super Bowl Predictions the saints are the only team that has never won a super bowl, they have made it this far, that means (to my way of thinking at least) that strange forces are going to be at work to make a saint victory. Its sort of like when you have all these things in your cellar, like paint, and paint thinner, and rags, and wood polish and everyting all gets together to start a fire. it might be more close than anyone could possible imagine.
