Probably Stating the Obvious; Re. 'Web'-based, Chess ..{with, minor exceptions, or 'qualifiers'}

{Long, 'MM,' Preface}: Incidentally; Earlier, I might've given any readers, the wrong impression; By, unintentionally implying, that posted replies, to my posts, were unwelcome{!?}; In that, I wouldn't be replying, to Any {posted} reply; ..Anyway; 'N-O-T'!

Sometimes, my 'cure,' {in this case}, was worse than the 'disease'! --The 'disease' being; 'Spud's earlier posted, mistaken, {and somewhat 'offensive'}, allegation; That my many posts, indicated a psychologically maladjusted, {implied}, and 'desperate' desire, {on my part}, to 'connect' with others, on this 'bb.'

To this day; I'm not sure, what he meant, by {me}, supposedly, wanting to 'connect' with others; But, given the way 'Spud' phrased it; {which I don't care to 'research'}; It couldn't have been, a compliment!

In the past; I've mostly enjoyed reading, 'DS' or 'BladeRunner's, 'take,' on a given post of mine, that elicited their interest!; Simply, because, {with few exceptions}; It represents, a type of positive 'feedback' or 'banter'; Which, I regard; As this {'misc'} 'bb' 'performing,' at its best!

In a 'nutshell'; Don't feel deterred, 'fellas' & 'gals,' {that's everyone!}, from giving positive, {added, informational} 'feedback,' to any post of mine; As I've already 'proved myself'..{I think}; Re. Not being, Too 'put-off,' {or, unnecessarily influenced}, by all the gratuitous, 'Negative' feedback; And unsolicited, erroneous, psychoanalysis, {'imo'}, by the few, 'from afar'!

And, who knows; I Might even be 'moved' to, 'reply,' to a, {positive, and-or, 'added informational'}, 'reply'!

Online competition OK but unsociable
Saturday, April 18, 2009

By SHELBY LYMAN

Technology has transformed some individual sports, such as golf, but had relatively little effect on others, such as tennis.

Perhaps most profound has been its effect on chess, especially through the medium of online play.

One can find an opponent at any hour of the day on easily accessible server-driven Web sites. The games are usually abbreviated -- 10 or fewer minutes each.

One chess site claims to host 100,000 games daily, with as many as 3,000 in progress at a time.

Internet chess includes beginners as well as grandmasters who relish the chance to enhance or maintain their skills, or play anonymously for fun.

Garry Kasparov is known to play online, as is the top female player, Judit Polgar. Bobby Fischer is rumored to have played.

What's most remarkable is that a very sociable game has been turned into a largely impersonal one. A list of my recent opponents includes Ladymacbeth, Blunderpuss, Herrtrigger and Mighty Pawn.

Who they are and whence they come, I don't know. It's unlikely that we shall meet again.

Thats because it happens so infrequently. Dude they think you are a Freak too. This post of yours right here is indicative of how insecure you are . Try to relax and shut the F@ck up once and a while. Sometimes fitting in means sit back and watch and listen. Even doing that doe'snt garantee acceptance, But you can never force it.
These are the kindest words i have for you.

Insecure?; Pardon me, for disagreeing, DOORMAN. But, just like I pointed out, to the since departed 'IBIJ,' {among others}; A quote, I once came across; That is relevent here: "It's not that some people Can't be persuaded, as to a given {factual} premise; It's that they Refuse, to be persuaded"{!}

If a whole bunch of people, feel justified in viewing myself; 'JC's 'Claims'; Or, Any number of 'things' in 'life,' as constituting something 'Negative,' {ie. 'crazy,' a 'downright lie,' etc.}; I seem to recall, that just as there used to be; Wrong, & wrongly motivated, 'lynch mobs,' in a physical sense; Obviously, {imho}, you, 'Spud,' and maybe 9 'vocal' 'others'; Can be Just as misguided, {in your various perceptions}, as you are numerous!

Otherwise, {'pray tell'}; Why do "lynch mobs," {including, the 'nattering nabobs, of negativism,' on this 'bb'}; Have the 'bad rep,' that they've had, from 'time immemorial'! ..{rhetorical}

Ps. As for your, "Shut the F@ck up, once in a while"; To Many people, {most, of whom, will never read this}; That represents, a maladjustment of the 'psyche,' on your part, DOORMAN; Along with you {apparently}, being, one of my most 'faithful'..{if, hypercritical}, {Caissa's Web}, 'bb' readers; Of a magnitude, and nature; That, the supposedly, 'messed-up, me'..{by implication}; Can't even begin, to appreciate; Much less, 'identify' with!! --'DEAL WITH IT'!

Ps. Thanks, for the 'back-handed,' {'This is Genius'}, compliment; Re. my choice of quotes!; Even if we're {obviously}, otherwise, 'diametrically, opposed'! ..And, 'never-the-twain, shall meet'!; 'Eh'?! ..{'Go, in Piece'!.. Er, make that; 'Peace'!}.--

Fascinating article...if it had been written in 1995.

Please tell me it was written in 1995 and you just changed the date to make your point?

I honestly believe, 'Spud', that I have something, {as in, 'talent'}, 'to share';

Exactly what are you saying here ?

That "posting" is somehow a talent ?.

If so, then let's look at WHY you think its nessersary to share. Do you believe that those that you share with are gratefull?. If so, what do you base this on ?. If it's some other reason, what is it?

If it's some other talent you are refering to, what is it and, again, what do you base that belief on ?

Nope! ..Especially, not; In the sense that; The 'unresponded post' you're referring to, 'Spud'; Gives the impression, {whether intended, or not}; That someone 'appointed' you, as my interrogator; And, I'm somehow the guy, in the 'debriefing room'; Perhaps, even in your own mind; 'Owing' you, a series of honest answers, to your {supposedly} superior knowledge, of, 'how things are done aound here'{!?}

If, it's any consolation, to you, 'Spud'; You're part of a {circa} dozen 'clique,' of unhappy, 'Caissa' 'campers.' And, apparently; Until, if and when, a 'filter' is installed; I'm the chosen, 'bogeyman.'

.. Leaving aside, your inability, {pertaining, to most of my 'nattering nabob' critics}; Who, literally, 'can't help themselves,' from reading my posts; Barring, a 'filter'{!?}----
