I don't think so. History has proved that communism is a total abismal failure and it is a graduated process, that is, the closer you inch toward communism, the more failure you experience. It is not like you are A-Ok until you reach a certain point and then all hell breaks loose.
 
socialists/communists are LAZY. plain and simple.
they want all the fun and thrill from the instant gratification of spending the futurte NOW - as opposed to being austere and truly working at solving problems.
 
then,,, one day,, the future shows up.
 
What are we now, $11 Trillion in PUBLIC debt (they won't even tell us how much "private" debt we owe) and we pay $300 Billion per year in interest payments. this is as a result of corrupt, lazy people that all they want to do is engourge themselves. Opulent, egomaniacal, narsasistic power pigs. They could care LESS what a monmental task they have left for the future,, care LESS!

Remember, when the communists took over the USSR a century ago, the country did not fall apart overnight. It took a long time before the communist inculcation finally started to show an affect.
 
we once had a poster in here from sweden, her SN was L8, Lotta.
 
she relayed in here that her father had stock in companies and if he sold it off, the government would take a huge chunk of it, like 60% or somethign outrageous.

one thing I do know,,, the direction of this country has not changed one iota. it is not like you have some years of one thing, and some other years of another.

The fact is, there has never ever been a big communist party in Sweden. Today we do not even have a party in the parlament that wish to be called communist (the former communist party is named The Left Party and has only 22 seats out of 349). And we got a right wing government with more than 50% of the seats in the parlament and also a very popular Royal Family...
 
 
I guess that you mean 60% of the profits. Today I think it is 30% tax on the profits when you sell shares and no double taxation.
 
And we have a low property tax (I pay 700 USD per year), no inheritance tax, no gift tax and no wealth tax.

BTW, the informnation I got regarding Sweden being able to for a coalition of groups that would technially make it a communist parlaiment was given to me by another Swedish Caissan. I cannot recall his name but he knows WizardNo1 very well.

Really i must have a very different tax loophole then Snoop. I am doing quite well and have no problem with my small business. Property tax is 1%. Makeing money hand over fist . Even now! I know the bottom Could drop out any time but so far so Great!. I think the tax's paid are chump change compared to the amount of infrustructure we enjoy here in this country.

I know the laws have recently changed and you're usually up on all this stuff, what happens if you croak and leave - say, $10 million to your kids? do the feds get like 40% or something like that? - or 100% of it over a certain amount?
 
I think right now rich people are just moving their savings right out of america and into off-shore banks run by non-criminal people, and putting all their property into trust.

I already pay enough in taxes --- roughly a 1/3 of what I make goes to the the gov't (local/state/fed) --- how much more do I have to pay?
 
Now Obama is going to raise payroll taxes anywhere between 15-20%

I must correct the 'pay more tax' thing. The new softer phrase will be contributing to the nations welfare.

I suggest that all of us begin an emergency program to eliminate debt. I personally have canceled two credit cards and will pay off the other one asap. That will leave me with one, low balance, credit card and a gas card and that's all.
