WASHINGTON {AP} - The Bush administration said Monday it is moving quickly to implement a $700 billion rescue program, including consulting with private law firms on how to buy ownership shares in banks to help thaw frozen lending and get the economy moving again.

Lest we forget,,, they are buying bankshares with OUR money, not THEIR money.
 
Same with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac,,,, do you really think they would loan out money to people who cannot qualify to get a loan at an actual BANK... if they had to use THEIR money.....? puhhLEASE!!!
 
In the meantime, total thieves and LOSERS are in charge of one big pile of money,,, OUR money,,, naturally, they are doing everything they can to steal it. EARMARKS, kickback schemes,, bribes from big lobby groups sending us into WAR,,, you name it.

Private law firms profiting is part of the same thing and what i think was the cause for all this mess: We are in front of an ETHICAL problem:
 
If the bank followed the rules and questioned some property values instead of lending money happily counting only in short term results, is The Goverment followed and did what they supposed to do and that was basically control the lending process of the banks and big shot executives do their job and warned of the BUBBLE that was being inflating all this years we wouldn't be suffering of this unique situation ( yes, we , the world).
 
Instead of that,, because they did not do their jobs everybody will pay and the worst: those MF that did´t do waht they were suppossed to do were giving each other hundred of millions of $ just hours before they were knowingly planning to file for bankrupcy: So unethical that turns to CYNICAL...gee i better go a grab an antiacid...I am really geting angry here!

 
not banking lawyers, they charge by the hour, and at that level it could be well over $500.00 an hour. personal injury lawyers get 33% of recovery in personal injury cases. unfortunately i'm not a personal injury lawyer either.

what you cite is exactly why sleazy thieveing politicans should not be runnin ghuge banks.

now that bush administration gave 250 billion to shore up some banks, the banks don't want to lend any money out because the bush administration did not negotiate that that would be a condition of getting the 250 billion. so obviously the lawyers for those banks earned their $1,000.00 an hour fee.

We as Americans have to come to the realization that politicans over the years have turned themselves into - among OTHER things,,, big time businessmen,,, only they don't have the accumen for it nor the constitutional authority, they just have the MONEY.

we have a $$multi-trillion federally mandated retirement fund that is being run like a ponzi scheme, and ready to go belly up any time now. The politicans know what they did but because they express no alarm whatsoever, people actually think they too, should not be alarmed! Silly sheeples.
 
$11 Trillion in debt,,,,? Who Cares!!! Certainly not politicans, they think they will be able to put everything on chinese mastercard forever! There is no "buzz" in Washington over this issue, no alarm in the politicans voice, ergo,, once again,, the sheeple think nothing is wrong. uh, huh... well, it is a debt of ABOUT,, $150,000 per family of four. that is YOUR share of their pigging out over the years. ANd their is NO plan to end the continual growth of debt,, NONE.
 
And please try to figure out,, just what expensive emergency America apparently CONTINUALLY has, in order to warrent such unbridled borrowing every year? the answer is, there ISN'T one, there is only greed for money and the god almighty right "... just to make a difference".
 
And what about "mandated" universal health care which IS a buzzword,,, should the government privatize it and simply pay for our billings....?
 
Under the circumstances that might seem logical. However,,, that takes away from the Feds that which they treasure most here, control and money. If they do it THEIR way,,, it will be yet another federal tax that comes into the government as ONE BIG HUGE PILE OF MONEY and they get to do with it what they choose, not what WE choose,,,, just like social security. And there will be no "escape" once we allow them to take control via a tax,, that is,, just like the social security TAX, there is no way out of it whether you get service or not or have to augment their service with private agencies using your own money. But rest assure, there will be no BIG HUGE PILE OF MONEY for healthcare when they are done with it.

one thing about politicans on ALL levels,,,, there is never enough money, there is never enough control of society. All that they see are things from THEIR PoV,, period. THEY COME FIRST!! - at all costs.
 
These a tough times. Can anyone in the real world go out and DEMAND - at the point of a gun,, a RAISE in income from their boss? No, of course not.
 
Politicains can. and we are the boss...? they just raise taxes whenever things are "tough" for them,,, the government. after all, our "employees" gave themselves the god almighty authority to do it. Obama is a perfect example. As bad as we have it, he just "wants to spread the wealth around" , as he put it. INTERPRETATION: Raise taxes. the solution that has "worked" for american politicians generation after generation. Cutting wasteful spending is NEVER an option for the greedy ones, never.
 
It is crystal clear they think a lot more of themselves and their money making rackets than they ever did americans or america.
