Well our Congressional representatives are always raving about how good their health care is. So why don't we buy our health care from the same place? That seems reasonable.

It may be barbaric, and you may have enough compassion to think of your "representatives" as not the type of people that would ever do that to American citizens.
 
But the proof is in the pudding and our so-called representatives already have a dandy of a track reord, and they have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt,, they WILL consign American people to a lot of barbarism while they grab the booty and run.
 
Every claim you made here inre, "healthcare", holds true for retirement, too.

If we weren't Americans and just happen to be from some obscure mud hut village that has never heard of a toilet we could get all the first class medical benefits possible.
 
The best Dr's , the Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins would be fighting for the chance to give free medical to that person in return for some free press.
 
But, we are Americans, tough luck. This is the country that GIVES money to devastated areas but will only MAKE LOANS to us.

no one is arguing trust the gov't-but to say gov't is evil let people suffer and die is incredibly (to be blunt) stupid.Every american citizen has the "Right" to health care.Open up the gov't insurance policy to every usa citizenso that they can buy into it.
 
To have a chronic disease like say Diabetes and because of that be unable to get health insurance (unless you are lucky enough to work for a company which provides it) is tantamount to a death senteance and a life of poverty.
 
Like it or not Gov't has legitimate functions.Corruption doesn't eliminate those functions

I guess what I am trying to say, Yaman, is... . if you really want universal healthcare for americans (not a bad notion),,, the High Hyenas in Washington, right now... are the LAST people on God's good earth earth that you want to give your money to in order to have UHC provided to Americans. THEY CAN'T BE TRUSTED! They have proven this over and over again, and if there is ONE thing politicans learned when they broke into our Social Security TRUST fund and took our money WIHTOUT OUR PERMISSION is,,,, Americans are now sheeple,, you can do ANYTHING to them. ANYTHING, and never worry about the consequences.
 
Now,,, you will have $TRILLIONS - or at the very least,,, $$$Hundreds of BILLIONS rolling into their fingers every year that is supposeed to go towards our healthcare. And what do YOU think these HIGH deomcrats (and repubs) are going to do once that strong smell of green reaches their nostrils???

Of course I have no problem with UHC, in and of itself,, I do have a major problem with the government PIGS being in charge of supplying it to us. At least when PRIVATE companies screw us,, the government is RIGHT THERE making them stand accountable and paying us back.
 
Who was I talking to,, or ABOUT? I am talking about little "a" amrricans, predominantly democrats, who are so ATTUNED to the wrong doings of Big Business... that's who. NO - and don't play DUMB, ok??? You are allowed to AUGMENT your retirement with a 401-K or other means, BUT,, you CANNOT get out of your social security retirement plan, no matter WHAT. (Unless you are a HIGH government PIG that has a super wicked good retirment plan payd for by US)
 
I'll say it again,, once the FEDS take over your healthcare,, ,you're SCREWED. You'll never get out of it. They may let you pay for private care on your own, but they will NEVER let you out of your UHC plan and of course, the WEEKLY BILLING you will get, which is what it has been all about in the first place.

They should indeed scream. I find it intersting though, the ones crying the most and the hardest were the democrats,,, and it is because they HATE Big Business and would love to see them all taken over.
 
Conversely, the ones who sat there in complete denial of any wrongdoing when SS trust was rifled,,, were the same Democrats. "Government takeover" - is a special love of the dems, so the feds get a free pass here. that explains the two different reactions to what amounts to the same crime, except of course, the SS theft affects a lot more people.
