listening to music while playing chess
i like to listen to music, while playing chess, but all while the music is playing, I have to hear that thud noise that tells me my opponent just moved. What I would like to know is if there is a member who listens to music while plaing chess, and if they know how to erase that noise that comes every time your opponent moves. i listen to utube music, any responces would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: listening to music while playing chess
.. Turn down the volume, as low as it will go, on your 'pc.' In my own case, for doing that, on my "acer-windows" 'pc'; I press down the "Fn" key, {I never even looked up, what "Fn" stands for?!}, while simultaneously tapping the volume-control-key, several times.

.. It's now back to "square 1"!; as the "volume-control-key" solution, will also make it impossible for you to hear your "YouTube" songs!

One, 'off-the-wall' suggestion; get Two 'p-cees'! ... One for each Web-site!..

Re: listening to music while playing chess
i think i only play chess to music. i usually lose while searching for good music to play...all my speed games are played to mp3 libraries on my computer - house music until i get drinking...then i go to 70's rock, then after really drinking, down to country music. :P, then the staccato brain waves go into coma mode and i play a little loopy :P

i use winamp still. the volume with that seems to be independent of the volume from the web-apps, so it's ok. try that maybe. should work.

I can turn down or mute the sounds coming from my browser. All I have to do is open up my Volume Mixer for my Sound Blaster card. Every application has it's own separate volume control.

Thanks for the responce, I chose the play on words because chess and nightclubs both provide a easy escape from life's tribulations and your able to make it through the day.
