Speaking of 'what if' scenarios; had the 'Web' been invented in the early 1980's {about 10 years earlier}, I Also likely would've been a 'founding {Caissa} member'; as the more sane alternative, to having 3 times played in the "World Open," where my lack of 'OTB' {live} playing experience, in retrospect, made me easy pickings. Also, having an inflated perception of ones' own correspondence {'snail mail'} chess ability, means little-to-nothing, at "World Open" {2 rds. per day}, type, tourneys.. 'D-u-h?!' |
