Reply | 31 Jul 2008, 07:28:53   On, 'Donald' Coxeter Thanks, 'Dual,' for the tip, which I looked up, {& enjoyed}, from the surprisingly long, online-article about him, in "Toronto Life"! {: {I read the first 61.23% of that article!; wry, if essentially accurate, humor}. .. I was getting somewhat bleary-eyed, when I started to read the first sentence of an unread paragraph, that seemed to be the 'intro' to a deep, if synoptic, treatise, Re. his higher-geometric specialty! .. Thanks, for your "wildcard entry" offer, but my limit of understanding equations, ceases, at around the first one or two pages that one encounters in introductory Algebra & Geometry textbooks. Though I'm looking forward to the day, {after I'm dead}, when one can literally download unlearned info. into ones' brain! {: Here's an unrelated tip of my own; namely, googling, the late {Rev.} Donald Grey Barnhouse; a distinguished and eloquent {with a distinctive mesmerizing voice}, Philadelphia Presbyterian minister; whose sermons can be heard {for free}, on one of the relevant Web-links; with a further, 'sub-link' involved. {I can be more specific with the 'Web' link, if you're interested.. and-or, come up 'empty-handed'}. I'd even recommend {to most people} listening to his sermons for their Bible expository content, and Not just his distinctive tonal-voice; if I thought it wouldn't be tantamount to serving-up to someone, my favorite type, pizza {"Canadian bacon, & pineapple"}, to a mostly toothless recipient {no offense}, as in, St. Paul's referenced, "milk-of-the-Word," versus his preferred preaching, Re. the "meat-of-the-Word"! Oh, well, we All have our Own starting points; depending of course, on the topic-at-hand! .. |
