For any Pink Floyd/David Gilmour fans
Over the last couple years I've been getting a lot of Pink Floyd stuff from Netflix. I say stuff because a lot of what I was getting wasn't what I thought I was getting. What I thought I was getting was concert footage and maybe even interviews with the band members. What I was getting was mainly a third person prospective on the band with hardly any music at all. After a few of those I quit looking for anymore and switched to finding hard to find PF songs and albums online. A few days ago I saw the following at NetFlix: David Gilmour: Remember That Night: Live at the Royal Albert Hall (2006). It's a 2 DVD set.

I received the first disc in the mail last night and watched it. I was very happy with what I saw. It's one of the best concert DVD I've seen, and I've seen a lot of them.

Gilmour starts out with a few PF songs, then goes into his solo album, On An Island, then back to more PF songs. The following video is the last 10 minutes, almost, of the song Echoes.

(edit)If it tells you the video is no longer available, leave the thread and come back and try again, it should work then.

There were a few famous people there to help out, David Bowie, Robert Wyatt, Richard Wright, Phil Manzanera, Steve DiStanislao, Dick Parry, Guy Pratt, Jon Carin, David Crosby, Graham Nash.

The only part I didn't really care for was David Bowie singing Comfortably Numb, although he did a hell of a job with Arnold Layne.

I would recommend this DVD for any PF/Gilmour fan, you won't be disappointed.

I'll tell ya one thing,

When I first got "Dark Side of the Moon", I was so impressed, I had to listen to over and over again, ad nauseum, only I never got sick of it.

eventually, I realized it was more than just a bunch of good singles put randomly on an LP. the songs - strung together, were so wonderfully arranged, I knew it could not be an accident.

still to this day, one of the most brilliantly recorded albums I have ever heard.

Gilmour has a lot of great songs, Until We Sleep is one of them. My favorite song of his has always been There's No Way Out Of Here.
