As the presidential campaign reaches our region, Barack Obama is stepping up his effort to correct the misconception that he's a Muslim, The Associated Press reports.
 
At a rally to kick off a weeklong campaign for the South Carolina primary, Obama tried to set the record straight from an attack circulating widely on the Internet that is designed to play into prejudices against Muslims and fears of terrorism.

What if McCain was brainwashed during captivity and is planning to
destroy the United States? Silly....? Of course. Anyone who has
taken any time at all to examine Obama knows that he is not a
"undercover muslim".He is however the most promising candidate to
bring America back together and to ensure that the wealth of America
is not just enjoyed by the privilaged few.
