Reply | 2 Feb 2008, 02:31:22   Re: Super Bowl predictions ..All I know is that the one 'entity' who probably does, and definitively know the score {as I'm typing this} in all of its permutations, {ie. what team will 'win-the-coin toss', etc.etc.} for obvious reasons, isn't sharing it with me. ..The fact that this same 'entity' could Really 'clean-up' in all the betting pools.. but chooses not to, is explained by the following 'copy & paste'; which, since many of us accept as 'a given', we give little or no thought to this particular 'Why.' Psalm 50:10 "For every beast of the forest is mine {ie.'His'} and the cattle upon a thousand hills." He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, The wealth in every mine; He owns the rivers and the rocks and rills, The sun and stars that shine. Wonderful riches, more than tongue can tell He owns the cattle on a thousand hills.. {I know that He will care for me} ..In parenthesis: A {very} nice thought; even if I won't be able to say.. definitively, 'til After I've 'passed on'{!} ..In 'saying' this, I'm thinking of 'St. Paul,' who was "crucified upside-down," believers in various dire circumstances, etc. etc.{!?} {Yeah, I know.. my own 'Lack of 'Faith'} 0: |

He probably honestly confused the super bowl with super tuesday. But Comma....he shoulda known better. Randy Moss MVP! He's from WV ya know! --SoCo |

Reply | 2 Feb 2008, 23:31:29   Re: Super Bowl predictions New York Giants 27 New England Ex-Patriots 21 With Brady being sacking with time running out and with them having a 4th down from the 8 yard line. Giants Win and the Manning Family has dual Winners - Ol Archie b a Proud Father - shame he was with the New Orleans Ain'ts during his career. Also, Give the Bible Stuff a break - there are those that are never destined to believe - Since the ability to believe and thus be saved is a "Gift of God" - so go beat your Bible at a local Jail or Prison or a Nursing Home where you will find people who are seeking some Good News. Ed Burrell dba TorpedoRun and formally as The KamakazieQueen from back in the 1990's when OmO was the resident Pain In the Arsh Also, where did FVZ and Fearless Go - WizNo1, ChessT, and several others from the "old" days still be here (and playing very well) but where did the "Others" go? |

John 3 Notice such words as... "the world" "whoever"... that would be everyone. Not just a select few. However, a break from "Bible Stuff" is indeed coming for this site as my membership expires on March 8th, I believe and I am not planning to renew. Can I get an Amen? ;) Cheers IBIJ |

Reply | 4 Feb 2008, 04:34:01   Re: Super Bowl predictions ..If there's any moral to be learned from this upset win, it's that being the 'hungrier' for a win/'underdog' team, will.. {more often than not} outweigh any statistical disadvantages! ..The Giants were.. when the 'day was done,' more focused than their opponents on playing 'what-it-took' to win; whereas, the understandably more confident 'Pats,' with less to 'prove'.. having already beaten the "Giants" on New York's 'home-field' almost 5 weeks earlier, were more concerned with how to keep from losing{!} .. A small distinction.. to be sure, but an important one; as was the close {winning} margin of the game illustrated! {An observation in my own words, that I suspect that more than a few {paid} sports-analysts will be writing & commenting on, in a similar vein; and No, I didn't listen to any 'post-game' analysis, or players' quotes!}. |

I wanted the giants to win and I thought they would cover beat the spread (which was 12 points)but I thought N.E. would pull it out in the end as they had all season.I thought that up until the last 5 minutes of the game it was not that great (I prefer high scoring games) but the last drive of the giants made up for it!! I did not make a prediction here but if I had I would have had to predict N.E. although I am very glad I and most of America was wrong. I almost feel sympathy for N.E. they have to feel the season was a failure, when they were one game away from history. Congrats to the Giants (even if they did beat Dallas) Diggy |
