"Glory Days"/ lyrics, by: Bruce Springsteen
{comment, preface- I'd like to be able to say that there Was
a time in my life when I personally would be able to 'look
back' and think of those "glory days," but it apparently
wasn't meant to be; at least, not other than, all-too-brief
and isolated, 'snippits' of time.
..You don't suppose that it has anything to do with being
more or less socially introverted{?!} ..Yuk-yuk}

{Song.. can be heard, on.. "YouTube"}

I had a friend was a big baseball player
back in high school
He could throw that speedball by you
Make you look like a fool boy
Saw him the other night at this roadside bar
I was walking in, he was walking out
We went back inside sat down had a few drinks
but all he kept talking about was

Chorus:
Glory days well they'll pass you by
Glory days in the wink of a young girl's eye
Glory days, glory days

Well there's a girl that lives up the block
back in school she could turn all the boy's heads
Sometimes on a Friday I'll stop by
and have a few drinks after she put her kids to bed
Her and her husband Bobby well they split up
I guess it's two years gone by now
We just sit around talking about the old times,
she says when she feels like crying
she starts laughing thinking about

Chorus

Now I think I'm going down to the well tonight
and I'm going to drink till I get my fill
And I hope when I get old I don't sit around thinking about it
but I probably will
Yeah, just sitting back trying to recapture
a little of the glory of, well time slips away
and leaves you with nothing mister but
boring stories of glory days

Chorus {repeat twice}

i remember this one, brother. pitching against the farm wall in this video. What's going through your mind today?

I have the day off. Last time I booked 'out of office' on outlook was back at the wedding. I really had some glory days. volleyball championships, tennis matches, late night hockey kickin' ass. In university i was actually much better at chess than i am now (I would say 2000 CFC strength, since I was top 1-2 against 10 of these guys all the time), so there was a really neat residence tourny that we had. i lost in a tie-break final but I beat the guy 'that could not be beat' haha. I felt pretty good that night. There's all the big-time exams that I got up for. Believe me I took those seriously. I would know before i handed the exam in what i would get, and shake the prof's hand as it was end of year. magician to magician.
