Reply | 14 Dec 2007, 05:03:42   What Is Truth? ..I just 'googled' this subject-heading {with many multi-page links, I think} and as would be expected, there is No universal agreement among everyone, on what constitutes "absolute truth." ..Which goes to show..'imho', that one of the main reasons that makes some philosophical arguments as compelling as they are, is that.. one man's 'given' {of truth}, could well be another person's statement that..{at least to their mind}, has little or no basis-in-fact. ..And so shall these divisons continue, so long as 'faith', by its very nature..{and believed by many, to be God's chosen 'Way', in conjunction with human free-will}, allows for all the doubters-to- to complete-doubters {atheists} to have their 'moment-in-the-Sun'; with their own alternative 'world-views'. ..Since I believe that this is God's starting-point for All people to decide on what side of the 'fence' they want to place themselves on, personally, I wouldn't want it any other way! ..Since faith-in-God, {'imho'} is a co-equal partner {if-you-will} for 'Love-of-God' {on the part of the faith-bearer}, this merely gives affirmation to the Very logical {and self-evident} statement, that.. there is No such thing {even among 'unbelievers'}, as coerced love! |

Hi Hmmmm That is the very reason that we should read Scripture and believe exactly what it says instead of attempting to believe what any one man would say about Scriptue. 1 Corinthians 1:21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 1 Corinthians 1:25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength. 1 Corinthians 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness" What I believe is that Hmmm & Gamma are the same people. If I am wrong then Hmmm is Gamma's disciple and as such should refocus to Scripture instead of Google. Cheers IBIJ |

Surely, I think I included the proviso, 'imho' {in-my-humble opinion}.. or, 'I believe'.. a sufficient number of times, so that it was Not as if I were saying: "Thus sayeth the Lord."! |
