Start a remedial class for most of your players, with the 'basics' coming first, like how to "block and tackle"! #2. Consider your remaining season partially salvagable by winning {or at least, coming close to winning} a remaining game. #3. Get rid of all of your mistake-prone, essentially, Non-learners.. from next year's {team} roster; as someone once said: "You Can't Teach Stupid"! #4. Build through the yearly {NFL} draft; and for quicker results, tell the owner {or owners} to "open-their-checkbooks" for the inevitable talented and proven "free-agents," from other teams. #5. The same principle applies to hiring your next "head coach" and assistant coaches. #6. Also in the draft, I'd try to trade your likely #1 first-round pick, for let's say, two second-round picks, for a faster team {fortune} turn-around. #7. Realize that there's a smart and dumb way to choose players in the draft; ie. no use picking a star {college} running back or quarterback, if your offensive line needs some major reworking{!} ..the only exception being, if another team with several talented players to trade, is willing to pay a 'king's ransom'.. provided you draft a star 'QB' or 'RB' with a one-for-several player-trade, to follow. |
