Viet Cong and their allies (China and Russia) never attacked America...

Although it's true that the "Viet Cong," "North Vietnam"; now simply,
the "Peoples' Republic-of-Vietnam" {I think}, and the 'V.C.', et al,
didn't attack America {in our 'homeland'}..considering that the 'other
side'..ie., N. Vietnam/'V.C.' prevailed, there is No denying the fact,
that We attacked them!
 
..Also, the "eerie paralell" refers to the "light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel"
'bs', lopsided {though somewhat-to-rather meaningless} lopsided {and
exaggerated} "enemy-body-count," and the..'we-need-more-time' plea
{'bs'} by the U.S. executive spokes-people and Generals, in Both time-
periods!
 
.. If the American public-opinion lacks patience for seeing these two,
separated-in-time, foreign-involvements/'adventures' through; then I don't
see that as a weakness, but rather.. the realization, that our $9-to-10-
billion dollar a month investment, {and lives lost!} as Worse than being
both Sad and Silly; the latter, referring to our taxpayer $$$$$$$$$$$$$
expended!!
 
..Considering the five-year-history of massive corruption, as Re. our "in-
frastructure-aid" to Iraq {both, military & civilian}.. the mutual "Sunni-
"Shiite" hatred, and/or mistrust; and the fact that our efforts at keeping
Iraq unified as 'one country'.. gives just about every appearance of 'going-
against-nature', plus the unmet taxpayer-dollar needs that are, and have
been, siphoned-off by our Iraq involvement; it wouldn't even surprise
me {and others}.. that our most avowed enemies {which, incidentally,
I Don't take lightly!} wouldn't secretly mind us staying there {in, Iraq}
several years more, and in substantial numbers, if it would {and, it Will!}
.. speed our country's demise as being a factor-of-note, in the world!
 
..Since Both the sectarian Muslim groups have been itching for a 'fight-to-
the-finish' {including, ultimately; the largely "Sunni" Saudis and Jordanians,
and the "Shiite" Iranians} for some time now, Who Are We to continue to
try to separate {and be shot at} by these two groups, while unrealistically
trying to promote "democracy"?!
 
..And the fact that the Saudi 'Royal' government, Is, and Has Been 'turning-
a-blind-eye' to several of its mega-rich sheiks & businessmen, giving finan-
cial-aid to "Al-Qaeda" over the past several years.. {it's been documented!}
.. that makes the 'Cut-and-Run' strategy, seem not only 'sensible', but also,
{I dare-say}.. Compelling!
 
..Ps. If you have 'three-big-spiders' {several thousand terrorists, analogy}
in a kitchen sink, does it make more sense to subdue them with a hammer{?}
.. as in, the 160,000 plus, U.S. Army & Marines{?!}..or, might not 'bug-spray'
..ie., "special-ops" troops, as needed, plus air-power, make more sense!?
 
..Pps., I suspect that the further {arguably, inevitable} multi-Muslim country
'bloodbath' that will likely Follow our near-complete or complete withdrawal,
{from, Iraq..especially; leaving aside, Afghanistan, for the moment}.. will,
like it or not, accomplish some of our country's 'objectives' {albeit, by default,
and through other 'stand-offish' means}, for us! {fini}
