Java Oracle vs Sun Microsystems
When I sign on to Caissa's Web site using Java, I receive a message stating that my Oracle Java is incompatible and I should download Sun Microsystems Java . However in 2010 Oracle bought Sun Microsystems, so the only Java download I have been directed to is Oracle’s. Is there somewhere else I can download an old version of Sun Microsystems Java or is it time that Caissa updated there software?

The primary indicator of whether this site's 'compatibility' is 'at fault'; Would be, your success or lack there-of; Of logging onto other chess Web sites, with your same configuration..'Imho.' -- Of course, the secondary 'Pink elephant,' in our collective 'living room' factor; Is the empty {Brooks Brothers?} 'suit,' of the administration here!!

Everybody gets that message. Java still works so just ignore it.

Java has been a pain for me. I must log in at least three times to really log in.Then I may have three of the same game on the dock monitor. Plus other problems.

Re: Java Oracle vs Sun Microsystems
This problem persists.

Using Firefox, Java interface will run, but sometimes I can have live games, and sometimes I cannot.

Using IE, it used to give me the option of allowing me to run the older version of Java, which worked fine. Now that IE has updated to IE10, however, I no longer have that option, and Java simply fails.

Admins, PLEASE READ THESE ONCE IN A WHILE.

We need the interface for Caissa updated to handle the latest Java runtimes.

Re: Java Oracle vs Sun Microsystems
I use Firefox Nightly, and Java gets disabled every now and then. Usually I get a red icon to the right of the back button, in the addy bar, that lets you enable it again. I think it is just the way FF handles apps like Java that cause stability or security issues.

IE... all I can say about that is delete it...

I haven't used Google Chrome in a while so I can't say how it handles java, but it wouldn't hurt to try it out.
