BB abuse.
Hello Admin Brian, I would like to bring to your attention, the long running issue of the excessive postings of one member. Being; zenknight, missing mass and rosetta stone. These postings consist of cut and paste articles. The end result is that when another member has something interesting to say, their post is quickly swallowed up , buried and lost without trace under a deluge of, excuse my French, boring crap . This greatly affects my enjoyment of this site. Would it be possible for you to email zenknight and request him to behave in a responsible adult manner? Many thanks, grevillea.

Re: BB abuse.
'Au contraire'; On a daily basis; To the best of my knowledge, I seldom, if ever, have posted more than four posts, in a 24 hour period.

The so-called 'abuse,' might appear 'flagrant' to some; Since, {with rare exceptions}, I'm not in the habit of deleting my posts; If, per chance, other, 'non-daily' 'bb' readers, 'happen along.'

My cumalative 'posts' and video 'embeds,' cover a wide range of subjects; And, I suspect that much of the animosity to my posts, is because, collectively speaking; I estimate, that 40% of them, deal with the {'mainstream'} Christian 'message.'

For that matter; Even a post, or video {embed}, in support of the 'Creationist,' or, 'Intelligent Design' argument; Will 'raise hackles,' with those who find that, provocative{!?}

A closer examination, of the 'bb', will show, that with the exception of two {'spur-of-the-moment'}, 'copy & paste' posts I made, two days ago; {dealing, with 'magpies' & 'saints'; Two, admittedly, 'out-of-context' references; That I {proverbally}, 'took the ball, and ran with it'; There was No pre-meditated attempt, on my part; to 'interfere' with the 'bb' communication of others; Nor will I be found 'guilty' of that 'charge' {by others}, again!

When it comes to 'insults,' and attempting to 'yank other poster's chains'; I come in a 'poor second,' to my critics, 'imho.' Thanks, for 'listening'; Admin. Brian

Re: BB abuse.
Admin? One does not need to be a handwriting expert to realize that this missing whatever and other are one and the same. This person may claim whatever he/she wants but they are the same person operating and posting under separate memberships.

All that is necessary is to notice the absolute lack of writing ability along with the deplorable attempt of modifying the punctuation to make some type of fraudulent emphasis.

Re: BB abuse.
I agree with Grevillea. The unholy trinity of aliases contribute many many inane posts. 'They' have been asked for years to desist, but continue to clutter the BB with copy and paste inanities.

Perhaps a seperate BB for posting items members would like to draw out attention towould suit, leaving a misc BB for discussion, but I must admit that I see this behaviour as being very anti-social and compromising members' use of the BB.

Re: BB abuse.
I'm in agreement with the majority and not because I want to be on the winning team ;)

At a minimum, out of respect, I would like to see Zenknight et al not contribute to existing posts unless he (they) are on topic. He (they) may find humor in his (their) hijacking a thread with a cut & paste response that is, marginally at best, related to the topic at hand, but I believe the rest of us don't find it amusing at all.

Again Z, it's all about respect.

Re: BB abuse.
As much as i dispise the unholy trinity of alias's and their spew. I am in favor of a filter instead of any repremand or punishment . I would hate for Admin. to have to monitor and dole out restrictions for certain members posts. I'm sure many of mine have been borderline acceptable and barely fit into the paramiters of the paragraph below.

Re: BB abuse.
I agree with the sentiments expressed above. although like Doorman I would prefer a filter, and would only add that, as has been posted on a number of occasions and also expressed to me by direct email, the excessive postings (noteably the "preachy" ones) are what discourages many others from engaging more in the Site

My Reply; 'Absolute lack of writing ability'; 'RAPTOR'?.. I guess that that 'charge,' {if taken, at 'face value'}, would make you..{'ahem'}, a 'bald-faced,' liar!

As for 'spamming'; Perhaps the meaning of that word, {along with, my alleged {by some}, 'solicitation violations'}; Could be 'stretched'.. so as to make me a 'gross violator'; But, 'imho'; My copy & paste' arguments, in favor of, the 'mainstream' Christian evangelical message, {comprising, well under, half my 'postings'}, contains nothing 'tangible,' in the way of an 'earthly reward,' for 'yours truly'!

Also; As I posted, the other day; With few exceptions, {ie. my very infrequent, 'rickroll' posts}; My posting content, is 'faithful' to how I 'title,' a given post's subject; So, it's Not, as if, I'm trying to 'deceive' anyone!

What I find, both amusing, and counterintuitive, {Admin. Brian}; Is that I've determined to my satisfaction; That some, {if not most}, of my harshest 'critics'; Also have, the least willpower; When it comes to 'reading,' versus, deciding Not to read, My Christian-oriented, {and 'titled'},
'c. & p.' posts; And-or, my defense, of what I decide to post; Including, how often. And whether, a 'dearth' of 'replys,' should 'factor' into it{!?}; Given that, the overwhelming majority, of 'Caissa' members, don't 'post' at all.

Re: BB abuse.
I note that you suggest briefly (very very briefly) that a filter is not in the offing in the short term.

Could I suggest that you create an extra forum for people to use to post links or imbedded material that they would like to draw our attention to.

Discussions could then be kept to a seperate forum, where their titles would not be lost in the welter of posts ONE MEMBER insists on cluttering the BB with.

There is no great amount of time that this would take you to set up - indeed I imagine it would be a few minutes work.

The level of frustration is running pretty high, and I beleive that this would take some of the pressure off.
