The pointing algorithm confuses me, sometimes when I lose I get points, I'm wondering, how caissa rates the games?

 
During the first 10 games that you play you are in your "provisional" rating period. During this time it is possible to lose a game and gain points as well as win a game and lose points.
 
Please go to the "Help & Info" tab above and choose "Player Ratings," there is a detailed explanation of the rating system including how provisional ratings are calculated.

How does Caissa choose which games to feature on its "some recent games played" feature on the homepage ?

On the home page those are 12 games from the previous day. The games shown are the ones with a time stamp closest to every 2 hour mark over the last 24 hours. No reason for that choice, just a way to choose them. The group of 12 games shown gets updated once a day around midnite or so.
