Refreshing to gain time at the end of a game

Hey guys, you are doing a GREAT job with this site, far beyond most of our expectations. I want to join and buy a membership, but there is one lingering issue that is keeping me from contributing. I'm presenting it here because I would like it fixed, as I know others would as well.

The issue is people refreshing their browser at the end of a game to gain extra time benefit in G2 chess.

I can name names if you need, but there are a few players who will invariably start refreshing between moves at the end of a close G2 game. The entire game, their lag will be <1ms but if the time is close at the end, you will a big pause between their moves and suddenly they come back and make a move with ten or more seconds than they had before.

These players don't do this at any time during the game, except at the end in a close time battle. This is unsportsmanlike, unfair, and it hurts the legitimacy of the clock in a G2 game. If it were as easy as avoiding certain players, I would-- but the problem is spreading.

My suggestion would be for all G2 games if there is ANY disconnect or sudden jump in ping time / lost packets, then that player loses the game. G2 is about speed and you can't effectively play a game with people disconnecting and refreshing.

Thanks for listening, keep up the good work, and please address this.

Even though I don't play live anymore I'll support this idea. A refresh during a timed game shouldn't be allowed, or at the least, let their time continue to count down during the refresh.

Re: Refreshing to gain time at the end of a game
Thanks for the compliments. The refresh function is of course a function of the browser, not of Caissa, so we cannot completely turn it off but we may be able to mitigate it.

I think you sent me a list of handles before, but go ahead and message me with those handles again.
