Brian, In my just annulled game versus damonachey {see below, for further 'ID' info.}, I castled as my first move, for 'white'; under a temp. handle}, my clock continued to run, after I made the move, my move was not recorded, in a notational sense... but it Was taken note of, on the live {graphic} board{!?} White: 4percentLuck (1729p) Start Time: 18:20:17 UTC Black: damonachey (1581) End Time: 18:20:53 UTC Game: Chess960 Duration: 0:00:36 Speed: G/10 Moves: 0 Result: 0-1 (Resigns) Game ID: LFR1218219617007628010464 |

From caissa's encyclopedia: How to castle in Chess960 (snip) After castling in Chess960, the final position of both the rook and king is the same as in standard chess. As an example, for white, queenside castling will always result in the king on c1 and the rook on d1. For kingside castling, the king will end up on g1 and the rook on f1. (snip) This wouldn't have been possible on your first move. pazuzu |

The clock continuing to run and no move appearing in the move list are normal behavior since the move was not allowed. Can you clarify what you mean when you say it was taken note of on the graphic board? All pieces should have returned to their original squares once the move was rejected. |

If the initial position had white's king on f1 and kingside rook on g1, you could play 0-0 on your first move and the two pieces would simply switch positions. Right? There are no pieces inbetween and there's no way the move would be endangering the king. --SoCo |

I believe there was a knight on f1. Had he moved his knight first then he could have castled on his second move. pazuzu |

I figured 4%Luck wasn't 96% stupid and wouldn't hit the button if the move wasn't possible. HoM continues to prove me wrong everytime I assume he has common sense. --SoCo |
