Reply | 19 Jun 2008, 07:50:58   Could Your "Chess-960" Server Be Made, 'Open-Source' Correctable, 'Friendly'? .. In reference, to this post's subject; in the "Wikipedia" "open-source" 'spirit,' of how their {encyclopedia} Web site works; I was wondering if well-intentioned and proven competent, "Chess-960" players, {with a minimum '960' rating threshold, let's say.. of 1700}, could play against "Rasputin" {for starters}, at chess '960'; whereby, any better move{s} that "Rasputin" or "Caissa" could've played, but didn't; could be either remotely re-programmed, or {more likely}, Non-remotely re-programmed, by any qualified member who met certain rating qualifications, let's say; and whose "better move, suggestion," at most any point in the game, could be.. at the very least, be taken into consideration, by the "Caissa's Web," 'Powers-that-Be'? .. If "Chess-960," or it's 'near relative' of, "Fischerandom," is ever to be taken more seriously; having a mostly competent cyber-algorithm {admittedly possessing, dauntingly substantial, info.}, would make for a good start!; even if it takes several generations {of human life}, before it starts to make a noticeable difference! {How's that, for 'forward-looking,' selflessness!}. .. The alternative, is for your '960' servers, to be making the same inferior, opening {trap}, middlegame.. and/or endgame, moves; Over, and Over, and Over, and ... {you get the idea, I'm sure}. .......................................................................................... |
