Reply | 10 Jun 2007, 00:23:27   Need help Caissa This is for who ever can help me with this problem I am having. I am extremely upset with Caissa with the new website (which by the way I have not been able to see). I have contacted via email Caissa Admin and 1 time received a reply. They said “I was found in the records and now I should be able to log in, please try again”. However this was 4 weeks ago. I re-wrote and have not received any answer since. I am running on JAVA so that is not the issue. So I have decided to take this issue to the public where my chess friends are. I have been told by some of my chess friends they too have not be able to log on. So I am requesting if you can send emails on my behalf and request this matter be addressed. I have also suggested that a link be establish from Caissa to New Caissa for those not able to enter. I am still waiting for a reply. Thank you for your time. Kind regards |

Reply | 10 Jun 2007, 03:16:53   Re: Need help Caissa To, "thisside," Hi, Aside from never having known {from your handle} that you even existed{!?}..until now of course {but that's beside the point}.. the fact that your computer is presently, and has been "running-on-Java," Could Well Be the Issue{!}.. if your Java-software is Not the latest update! Three months ago, prior to instructing my local {& friendly} computer-repairman/literal computer, "MS Windows" know-it-all, I Too, could not log-on satisfactorly to this New Caissa, to the point where I could do no more than be a passive observer, which apparently, you're not even at that stage yet! Anyway, if you're like myself and a number of other Caissa cyber-neophytes or trogdolytes, No amount of bulletin-board patient coaching by Admin. Brian {which he Has done with others, by-the-way, on this BB!} would {or likely will} do you any good, simply because my own {and quite possibly yours too} under- standing of accessing certain control-panel functions of my broadband "Windows/Java"-running computer, is so limited! My advice? ..Instruct your local computer-repairman to install "the Latest Java-update" on your computer, and if that's not financially feasible, than hopefully you know of an acquain- tance who would do that for you out of the "goodness-of-his/her? heart"! { : Ps. If you have a dial-up Internet connection that does not run on the "Mars"-engine, the fact that you're not "Mars"-connected, {not sure about the dial-up factor} will make your connecting to the New Caissa a virtual impossibilty.. and I'm basing this on what Admin. Brian posted, some time back. |

But anyway, you've forgotten to state what happens when you try to log in. If you haven't already, try both "Java" and "Non-Java". And then tell us the outcome. |

Reply | 10 Jun 2007, 18:14:51 In reply to thisside Re: Need help Caissa I think you are describing a problem in which you go to the new Caissa and type in your handle and password and it locks up. This is not a problem with your logon credentials as we are able to successfully logon to the new Caissa with your handle and password. Rather this is a problem with your Internet setup. The first thing we need to know is what type and version Operating system do you have? Windows XP etc. Then we need to know your browser type and version, i.e. Internet Explorer 7. Finally if you can go to this link: http://www.caissa.com/ext/javacheck and copy and paste the results of this test into a reply to this message, that will help us troubleshoot the problem. |

Reply | 11 Jun 2007, 00:30:12 In reply to smjg Re: Need help Caissa When Admin responded to me these were their words: "We were able to access your account on the new Caissa. So the log on is correct. You may want to try again and see what happens". by Admin Floyd I simply paraphrased. I think they had to do some research to verify who I was. Anyway so far all I got was get the latest Java. I have 2.0. Now on May 25, 2007 I received this email: "There will be a link to the Old Caissa directly from the New Caissa home page. Inevitably, there will be bugs and problems associated with the switch-over. We ask for your patience during this time of transition". I'm still waiting for that link from Old Caissa to New Caissa which I think is more important. The saga continues. |

Reply | 11 Jun 2007, 00:38:02 In reply to AdminBrian Re: Need help Caissa Hello Admin Brian, I took your advice and click on your link below. It took me to a Java test. Here is the results of that test. JavaScript working. (All In Green) I don't know if there is suppose to be something else in that block so I waited a few mins and it remained the same. Also, I took off the fire wall just in case it was that still no results. I am not a wiz with computers, but I have all the best equipment, and up to this point no problems with Caissa. Please adivise. Kind regards |

Reply | 12 Jun 2007, 13:00:52 In reply to thisside Re: Need help Caissa thisside, One more thing you can try is using a different browser. Go to http://www.getfirefox.com then download and install. Then try using that browser (not IE) to access the new Caissa. If it does not work, go back to http://www.caissa.com/ext/javacheck with Firefox and copy and paste the results here. Thanks. |
