Reply | 26 May 2007, 16:07:30   What happens to the database(s) when this new site becomes live? At the moment, the game databases are separate between caissaonlinechess.com and caissa.com. On this basis, what is going to happen when this site goes live at caissa.com? Will they be merged, or will I have to continue my ongoing corr games on the old site? Moreover, what happens to ratings, at the moment changing independently between the two sites? And the Scorebook, Member Info Pages and whatever else I can't at the moment find in this new interface? All game playing functions including corr games, scorebook, results, ratings, etc. will be separated between the sites. They will not be combined. Possibly in the future we will allow migration of your scorebook from the old to the new.

So effectively, the community will be split in two - those who use the new site and those that for various reasons continue to use the old one, and people from the two groups'll seldom play each other.

The corr games are completely different systems--there is no easy way to transfer them over. We will probably offer the ability to transfer the Scorebook games sometime in the future. We have to get a Scorebook on the new site first. :)
