From, An 'Old' Yasser Seirawan, Opening Innovation
Incidentally; Though the best players, are seldom thrown 'off course'; The opening moves {1.e4, e5 {or ..Nc6}, {2.c4!? ..Does carry a modest surprise value, in itself. Since the game immediatedly changes, from a 1st move, that's strongly identified with 'tactical' sharp play; To most likely, a 'closed' {slowly evolving},"English Opening." -- Perhaps, oddly; This was Not 'Seirawan's 'opening innovation'; But 'white's 7th move {of 'f4'}, was; By transposition, as I recall. --
