Reply | 3 Mar 2010, 13:13:43   A 'White' K-side Attack, Is Repulsed / 'G/10' .. Sometimes, an error in carrying out an attack, vs. a castled king position; Can be even more instructive, when its done slightly 'out-of-sequence' as it were; By the 'attacking' side. As for the lack of 'annotations'; I believe, that every 'good' chessplayer, Should be capable of 'spoonfeeding' themselves! -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Event "Live Game"] [Site "Caissa's Web"] [Date "2010.03.03"] [White "couch3"] [Black "whiteLightning"] [Result "0-1"] [TimeControl "600"] [WhiteELO "1476"] [BlackELO "1597"] [ECO "A02"] [Opening "Bird's opening"] 1. f4 e6 2. You add so many errant commas, semicolons, and single quotes that it makes your writing difficult to read. If I were to edit your comments, here is how it should look: "Sometimes an error in carrying out an attack vs. a castled king position can be even more instructive when it's done slightly out-of-sequence, as it were, by the attacking side. As for the lack of annotations, I believe that every good chessplayer should be capable of 'spoon-feeding' themselves!" In order to understand the appropriate use of commas and semicolons, one must first understand the difference between a phrase and a sentence: A sentence is a complete thought, containing both subject and predicate; a phrase is an incomplete thought that doesn't satisfy these requirements of a sentence. Commas are used to set apart phrases; semicolons are used to link two sentences. Notice that in the previous sentence both "commas are used to set apart phrases" and "semicolons are used to link two sentences" are complete thoughts joined together by a semicolon. However, look at the sentence before that: "a sentence is a complete thought" is actually a complete thought, but "containing both subject and predicate" is not; they are therefore separated by a comma. Obviously, commas and semicolons have other uses as well. Perhaps this will be a start in helping you use them more appropriately. -f |

Your random use of single quotes and semicolons is insane! -f |
