Reply | 30 Sep 2007, 20:09:14   Re: Barely hanging on windmill, In a semi-'perfect world', you would've long ago had your apology from the admin., as you described it; but to put things in a more proper perspective, I long ago, {40 years} transgressed against a family member in a con- siderably worse way, and have since been forgiven; and perhaps it's 'karma' at-work, but I've Since been required {by my religion} to forgive another {immediate} family member, for spreading Very Old negative gossip, of a personal nature, quite recently! ..One can go through life {if they want} with a sense of per- ceived justified hurt, against another person {even 'faceless' persons.. as in the Caissa Administration}.. but rest assured, that that these sorts of corporate 'screwups' {including, the lack of an apology} not only are a part and parcel of 'living', but your own unforgiveness of the transgressions committed against you, by the Caissa Admin. in this case, will, in a 'karmic' Bible sense, mean that you have yet to learn the principle of unconditional forgiveness; even when an apology is Not forth- coming{!} JC said, that we are to forgive others, "70-times-7," {ie. un- limited number of times, if need be}.. and notice that He did Not attach any 'pre-conditions' to that important {Christian} principle; as in, provided someone first apologizes! ..Have a Good day, my friend!..{ : |

Reply | 13 Oct 2007, 07:06:02   Re: Barely hanging on "Incompetence" {as you may know} is Both a matter of perception and 'degree'{!} ..And the fact that "windmill" thinks that since this Website "lost" all of his past email corr. games is worthy of mention, and is ob- viously important to him, doesn't even make it on my own 'radar screen' when it comes to being {ahem} 'pissed'. ..Then again, when it comes to keeping records of my own "live- game" wins {or losses}, I don't; Life is too short to play over my own games; though I admit, it's no doubt to my own chessic detriment.. as in learning from one's own mistakes, which.. to the degree that it's possible in chess, I try to do that mentally{!} ..Yes, there Are a number of legitimate 'beefs' that various cur- rent and former members here have, vis-a-vis, the Caissa Admin! ..Even including, "windmill's," though I can't personally relate to it. ..And whether these gripes/'beefs' are sufficient to Not renew one's membership here, is {naturally} everyone's personal decis- ion. ..The point I made earlier, and aligning myself with JC's mindset, is that even if you {or anyone} Does quit this place in their own perceived justifiable disgust {which to re-assert, is everyone's 'perfect right'}.. I would hate to think that it would be many years afterwards {if ever} before a former disallusioned Caissa member, can bring himself to forgive the mostly faceless annonymous specific Web site personnel, who were involved in the "incompetence"! ..Because if that be the case, and in lieu of {Bible} chapter-and-verse{?} ..though it's otherwise a valid JC quote: "If ye {you} can't forgive another person's transgressions against yourself, neither will your heavenly Father forgive your transgressions against Him"..{ie. God} ..We're Not 'talking' about ignoring someones' incompetence, which is partly rectified by deciding not to "renew"; rather, a moral law of the Universe, regarding forgiveness-in-action, if you will! ..A similar facet of this moral law is Scripturally mentioned, when a group of men were about to stone-to-death an adulterous woman, save for JC's intervention and admonition; ie. "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone." |

If Caissa shuts down the "old" site there are several things that will be lost. I have given up on Caissa, I just stopped by tonight for the first time in a long time to see who was still here. Good luck everyone. |

It takes some time to program all this , it's not something they can do overnight. I agree they made a mistake by opening this new site a bit too soon but if we are patient we will forget the old site . I will definitely stay until 2034 if they allow me to do so.

On old site go to: "All Member Statistics" and under "Senior Members" you will find it (at least 100, but not sure. I am on 33, so did not look farther.) I like old caissa, with their problems. New will be probably fine, but it takes time. What I did not like was attitude of a few members after losing games. That trend still continues, but on a smaller scale. |
