Reply | 27 Jan 2010, 18:11:35   Re: BLITZ LAG My problem with the lag in blitz is this: * Before / when I start a game, Caissa is reporting my lag as something like 2ms. * Invariably, near the end of every game, the lag shoots up to something insane like 600ms or 1200ms. Not at the beginning or the middle, but always at the end. This affects nearly every G2 game I play, because while my lag is reporting as low I'm shown way ahead on time (I do play very fast)... but when the lag thing hits, suddenly my opponent starts pulling ahead on time with every single move until I eventually just run out of time. It's awful. -f |

Without minimizing your legitimate gripe, Re. the time-lag @ G/2; And, until it gets fixed; In the spirit of "making lemonade, when you're handed a lemon"; Have you considered challenging others @ "chess-960," with a G/5 time-control?; Or if need be, G/10? I'm Not trying to be 'funny' either. As I believe that part of the 'problem' {as the 'late-great?' Fischer, noted}; With conventional chess; Is that too many of the 'umpteen deep' opening moves, are the result of unconscious, mental 'rote memorization'!; Which would seem to be a signifigant part of the reason, why anything Slower, than 'g/2' seems 'too slow' to you & others!; Yet arguably Not; When a "Chess-960" game is 'on-the-line.' Especially, if one is playing 'black'! .. What Say You?; Or any concerned reader, to this 'angle'?! |

Sorry for the delay in addressing this issue - we just completed transitioning all of the old Caissa Classic site to new hardware. We realize all the action is on the new Caissa site, but if we did not get the Classic site updated we faced hardware failure and total loss. We are investigating the lag issue now and hope to try some fixes early next week. Thanks for the reports.

Some members were ready to jump ship, just because of some rumours ,possibly started by chessplayest, indicateing there might have been some embarrassing indiscretions commited against the great state of Texas and God, by certain Administrators. Reply | 28 Jan 2010, 17:24:54   Re: BLITZ LAG Thanks, Brian. Not sure if you are checking the technical board as well, but I posted another nice bug there yesterday. Wish list: * A configurable waiting list button. I play strictly G2. It would be nice to have a single button I could press that would put me on the G2 waiting lists for both classic and 960 with the press of a button. * An Apple iPad. Oh, heh. -f |

Wellcome back Brian ( I wonder if this Brian is kind of the Lassie's on the movies who keep showing after 40 years or more...:)). Edited on 3 Feb 2010 at 15:33:18 |
