Reply | 21 May 2008, 14:16:17   "Create a board" feature added to the BBs We have completed the "Create a (Chess) Board" feature in the Bulletin Boards. To use it, choose the "Insert game" option and then choose "Create Game/Position". This feature not only allows you to insert a chess board position in your post, you can also create a series of moves and optionally commentary as part of your post. The procedure goes something like this: Step 1: Create board position. Step 2: Add moves and commentary. Step 3: Add game details (players, event etc). Step 4: Review and post. A sample is below. I'll add a video tutorial soon. Enjoy! [Event "?"] [Site "?"] [Date "????.??.??"] [Round "?"] [White "?"] [Black "?"] [Result "*"] [WhiteELO "?"] [BlackELO "?"] 1. e4 {Here's first move commentary.} 1... c5 {And second move...} 2. Nf3 {And 3rd move. You get the idea!} |

This is already possible. But you have to do it manually by editing the embedded PGN file. May sound intimidating but I think you will find it faster and easier once you figure it out. However we are working on the ability to edit a game post using the graphical interface. Anyway here is a quick video: Leap Frog Example Tutorial Edited on 5 Jul 2008 at 15:50:12 |

It didn't make the move on the board and didn't list the move in the move list. It did add the comment though. pazuzu |

Remember that the notation for castling is O-O or O-O-O, that being an upper case letter "O". [Event "?"] [Site "?"] [Date "????.??.??"] [Round "?"] [White "?"] [Black "?"] [Result "*"] [WhiteELO "?"] [BlackELO "?"] [SetUp "1"] [FEN "r1bqkbnr/pppp1ppp/2n5/4p3/4P3/5N2/PPPP1PPP/RNBQKB1R w KQkq - 0 1"] 1. Bc4 Bc5 {OK next move I am manually entering a Castle} 2. O-O {Hmm that seemed to work.} |
